Oh, rights (re The Script). Yeah. I don't know how this stuff works. The Script is on RCA-UK. ...Jive, RCA, etc. -- they're all subgroups of some big corporation, right? Is it Sony? I can't see them releasing a single that couldn't legally be released in such a big market as the UK. But I guess stranger things have happened.
Was it you, SleepinIn, who said a New Zealand fan tweeted it wasn't available in NZ either? (Well, I read it somewhere.) Maybe it's more like a decision not to spend money to market the single in all international markets. Based on surveys, or something. Who knows? But I've been wondering how they can compare the sales of a single that's not available everywhere with the sales of other singles that are (available everywhere).
SleepinIn, did we miss some of your post, or did you just start it in lower case? lol
I see what you're saying -- you think this older demographic that likes Adam may not go for the type of music on his CD. That might be an issue. I was thinking in a different way. I was just thinking it's odd so many of Adam's fans are seniors. Are you aware of many Top 40 type pop stars who appeal to this demographic? I don't know if this could be a millstone for him. I mean, it could be a joke. Adam and his 65 year old groupies.
Also, when I see him pre-selling so many CD's on Amazon, I just think of people buying CD's for themselves and all their friends. People with money to spend, i. e., not young people. Not to put these people down, in any way. Besides, it hardly matters who your audience is, as long as they spend their money on you. But it's funny how, when you have this type of audience, they can take over the fan stuff and get into warring factions and all that, and I think they can drive young fans off. (I. e., young fans who just want to enjoy the artist and have fun.)
