HA! - Ross I kinda think Kris would agree with you on that one. :)

Adam in a trucker hat. Very interesting fashion choice there Adam. Although I guess sometimes it's just about keeping the sun off your head. They looked happy with the cars. I wonder what happens to the cars now? They've got them.. great.. They're on tour. It's not like you can pack up your car and take it with you. It's got to be a total photo op and pick up the car at a later date thing, right?

As somebody on that LiveJournal page wrote, Adam was in straight-guy drag today. lol

I'm reading on mj's that Adam's hat said GAS, short for Galpin Auto Sports, where they picked up the cars, I guess. Featured on MTV's Pimp My Ride, a show I love (but haven't seen lately). I never get tired of seeing how people freak out when they see their krap kars kustomized.

YouTube - Kris Allen, Adam Lambert Entrance

From MTV: "Pimp My Ride" has an all-new garage. Once again, rap superstar and car enthusiast Xzibit and car customization specialist Mad Mike take aim on the biggest clunkers on the road. Joining them for a new spin on car customization, is GAS -- Galpin Auto Sports. Taking car customization to the next level, together Xzibit, Mad Mike and the crew at GAS create unheard of pimped out masterpieces.

You're right, they can't use the cars now, but I guess Katy could probably use Kris's, when she goes back to Conway. Maybe they'll ship it?

Adam likes that hat. What a tease he is, huh? (Bubble tweet from Adam.)

And hey, excuse my disgusting mind, but look at the microphone placement in that pic of Danny on the stairs. Haha! Unfortunate shot, that.

Too bad you can't see Jim Cantiello's MTV videos. Not that you're missing all that much, but Kris did say, "You should come out and see the tour 'cause it's friggin' awesome."

Hee - I guess GAS is going to be the the car go to people for every television production since the rest of them are so broke. Free cars, always a good thing. I'd wear the hat too if they gave me a car.

Danny's picture.. lol. Oh dear.

and someone posted the MTV interview online
YouTube - Adam Lambert 7/16/09 Jim Cantiello Checks Out the 2009 AI Live Tour!!!

yay! :)

I watched another interview today ...let me see if I can find it.
This one cracked me up (not the Adam and the rest part) but Kris laughing and saying that they all have fans and no groupies - then he laughs and says Adam has groupies. I don't think Kris minds too much. lol

I thought Rickey was supposed to have the cellcast tonight from Ontario, CA. I don't see anything on his blog.

He's doing it Ross. I bailed on it though - might check back later. The sound was horrible. If you click on ricky tv at the top of the page it will take you there.

Thanks for that clip.

And the info about the cellcast. I'm watching it now. Just turned it on. Kris is doing Bright Lights. He sounds awesome "underwater." A lot of screaming for him coming through too.

I hope someone posts video of this! Have you noticed, not a lot of Kris video on mj's blog lately, especially not BL.? Always seems to be Heartless and Hey Jude.

("Thanks for that clip." referred to the 'groupies' clip. I see you added more stuff -- will watch it soon...)

Kris is one of the world's foremost viola players?

btw, the groupies question: He downplays any stuff like that. I don't know if it's always the best thing to do, but it's just his way.

Remember how he said ( a while ago) he doesn't really ever experience being mobbed by fans? He doesn't go out enough? Or whatever. He gives the press so little to run with. When people say he's "boring" they probably mean this!

What if he said, "The groupies, they're crazy, but it's just part of the whole thing. I love it."? Or: "Oh, the fans, they just mob you wherever you go, they are the best." Next day you would probably read: "Idol Winner Allen Mobbed By Fans, Admits He Loves It."

Hearthrobs/idols aren't so much born as made, I think. Like the kids who screamed for Frank Sinatra - that began with girls planted in the audience who were paid to scream. Then it just caught on totally. It's all such a game.

Kris is adored already, so he's doing something very right, for sure. But my feeling is he needs to play the game a little bit more, maybe. Or maybe not! It'll probably happen either way. I don't know. Still, he's so modest it's crazy.

Did you read how his CD is almost done??? That's unbelievable.

I'll have to listen to the interview with Matt tomorrow. Thanks for finding it.

I have to admit something. I think I'm kind of losing interest. Not in Kris, but in following the tour, reading/watching interviews and reviews, watching all the tour videos (which I haven't done at all truthfully). It happened to me also last year. I'm still a Kris fan and I can't wait to hear new music (and to see him, and David, again on my TV on GMA), but don't "worry" if I don't post as often as before. I'll still keep reading because you guys are very very interesting!

You'd think they would have told us, right? LMAO. I'm sure Kris is good since he played state and all, but world renowned? I highly doubt it. I think Tulsa today mixed up a few facts here and there with that article. Maybe the symphony conductor is world renowned?

This is true. It is all a game really. Interviewers really are looking for a soundbyte for their column or radio/tv show. They only have so much time aloted to them they need something to the point that they can run with. I think Kris's friend was right on the money. Kris runs from the spotlight and it finds him anyway. It's kind of interesting.

No I didn't hear that. Where did you see that?

Interesting as in crazy right? LMAO :) But seriously, I can understand that. I've never followed the AI Idol tour AT ALL - like seriously. Not even tv appearances. The CI's were different since I tended to like their music choices a lot more and and they didn't get the press so you really have to go looking to find any information on them and the talent is there in raw form. I want them to do well.

Twitter is another reason the tour is so addictive this year. Aaron Spears in a snuggie. How can I resist? lol Kris makes a very brief silent cameo appearance at the end.

Interesting as in crazy right?

Well, of course! But crazy in a good way!

I'll still follow a bit the tour, I think I'll just skip reading/watching too many things. And I can't wait for news about Kris' album, so I'll keep an eye out also for that. But you and ross always post the good stuff, so I'll keep checking here everyday!

Aww, missaddicted! I know what you mean, I guess. I'll miss your posts so much, though. I actually think I'm as interested in the tour as I was in the show. Maybe more. I'm not sure why. It's seeing them in the real world, I guess. It's a pleasure to see them performing without Simon judging everything, and I'm really enjoying seeing the fan reactions and getting to know the idols better. But I can see that it wouldn't necessarily be interesting to everyone. SleepinIn, I hope you're going to stick around a while. I've been enjoying the thread lately a lot.

Did you read about Kris and Matt spraying the crowd at the barricades with silly string?

I was reading the concert recaps. They've been good. I also read an actual (wait, are you sitting down?) negative review of Adam. I thought maybe I had landed in an alternate universe, for a moment. One where Kris made the cover of Rolling Stone and Adam won American Idol, maybe. Anyhow, yes the person called Starlight the weakest vocal performance of the entire night.

She then got so many comments from the Adam faithful, I think, that she sort of had to explain she still feels he is marvelous and fierce and so forth. I suppose she was afraid of the lynch mob that had formed outside her home yelling "Death to the infidel!" but then that's just an unconfirmed rumor.

I still find it funny that so many of Adam's fans refer to him as the "glittery alien" ("from the Planet Fierce"). Now, there's something alien about David Bowie, for example (I think he even played one, once), but I find Adam very boy-next-door, don't you? ("Why can't the guy with guyliner be the guy next door"?) Yeah, I know they're talking about "onstage Adam," but even so. There's something very down to earth about Adam. And I mean that in a good way.

I just tried to listen to those bloopers and had to have Megaupload send me my password and username, since I never remember those things. So now I'm going to listen...

Okay, that was funny, especially Adam saying "This is Kris..."

Aaron Spears in a snuggie! What the hell was that about?! Haha. That crowd screaming for Kris: now that's what I call some real barricades! How far away were they keeping those people?

And now, for no particular reason except I like it: Hedley pranks Faber Drive with silly string:

SleepinIn, I hope you're going to stick around a while. I've been enjoying the thread lately a lot.
I am - and me too Ross. I've found it really interesting actually - I really like this bunch of Idols - a lot more than I did on the show actually.
Did you read about Kris and Matt spraying the crowd at the barricades with silly string?
I heard of that, but didn't really hear anything other than that they did it.

I was reading the concert recaps. They've been good. I also read an actual (wait, are you sitting down?) negative review of Adam. I thought maybe I had landed in an alternate universe, for a moment. Starlight is a song I love (on the ipod for the past few years) and I don't like Adam's version as much as Muse's but that's true for a lot of the Idol songs so it's actually not a criteria that I judge them on. (at least not that harshly) Adam would probably be the number # 2 version of that song though. I guess that's why I like Kris as much, he took songs I love and made his own versions that I also love. Adam did that with Mad World though too.

I suppose she was afraid of the lynch mob that had formed outside her home yelling "Death to the infidel!" but then that's just an unconfirmed rumor.
LOL. Who dares. Poor Adam really, there's a lot of pressure being placed on his shoulders to be the next superstar. I don't think he'd thank me for pitying him for that - but I mean it in the best way. He's certainly got the media on his side right now.

I still find it funny that so many of Adam's fans refer to him as the "glittery alien" ("from the Planet Fierce").

Didn't his brother start that one?

but I find Adam very boy-next-door, don't you? ("Why can't the guy with guyliner be the guy next door"?) Yeah, I know they're talking about "onstage Adam," but even so. There's something very down to earth about Adam. And I mean that in a good way.
I agree with this, his stage persona is out there, but he really does come across as this very nice, down to earth, real person. I really like him.

Okay, that was funny, especially Adam saying "This is Kris..."
The bloopers just show you how scripted the show actually is, don't they? lol

Aaron Spears in a snuggie! What the hell was that about?! Haha. That crowd screaming for Kris: now that'swhat I call some real barricades! How far away were they keeping those people?
Like two miles away. You need to hike to the crowds, climb a cliff. They were serious about crowd control. No messin' with them.

off to watch the silly string prank :)

The reaction videos crack me up. Just the thought of someone setting up the camera to film their reaction to AI - well it seems a bit off (says the person still chatting about AI everyday). It almost seems like they expect themselves to have a hysterical reaction whichever way it goes. Maybe it's just the type of person I am but if Adam had won - I would have been okay. Really. lol

I'd like the interviewers interviewing Kris to think up some better questions. I don't think it's too much to ask. :)

This is a retro video - but the sound is much better since it was filmed by someone in the audience, so you could actually hear the crowd. It's Kris playing at the Walmart meeting. I may have actually watched it before - but I can't remember now.
