By the way, thanks ross for the videos (although did you post the same one twice, two of them have the same title, 3/3). I'll have to watch them later, now my computer hates me for watching all the other videos that I posted.

You're right, I hadn't seen that! Hamilton, though? I guess they couldn't go to Toronto.
I'm guessing Hamilton was way cheaper. :)
(The sound quality is great on these.)

(Is Kris's speaking voice really that deep?)
The sound quality is amazing - I've been watching them all night, lol. and I was surprised by Kris's voice too - I don't know why I should be since he sings loud enough. He's got great stage presence up there.

But, yeah.. NB.. 8O He did win a craptastic song - good thing it comes with benefits. I do like it better than before, but that's not really saying all that much.

Thanks for all the Star Academie videos missaddicted - I've watched a couple episodes before when I've come across them but my poor French always leaves me feeling a bit left out. I sort of wish that English Canada and French Canada would get behind the subtitle movement. There are a lot of French programs that look interestingly different.

That would be a good idea. I guess I really enjoy being a French Canadian, because, being surrounded by English, you kinda don't have the choice but to learn the language (and you have many years of English classes in school). I totally see the benefits of knowing the two languages. At the same time, I'm so very proud of the Québécois culture and being a part of it. I guess I can have the best of two worlds!

The sound is really great on those videos, I agree! And yes, NB is not a very good song. The other day, I wondered how three professional songwriters could have written such dreck. Especially compared to Regie Hamm, who won the songwriting contest last year with "Time of My Life". Let's say his list of hits is pretty short, but he still managed to write what I would considered a solid coronation song (and the best selling of all time), while Kara and friends were not even able to write a decent song. I hope they're ashamed.

Oh absolutely! I wish my french was better -- I took french through school but my teacher sadly told me to stop (sheepish grin) - I hung in there but really I'm kinda hopeless, although I can probably read more then I realize.

I hope they're ashamed.

Remember how proud she was of it? Oh dear. I felt bad for her, but then I snapped out of it and felt bad for the winner. How many days til we can ditch it? We'll probably get a live version on the itunes pass. *sigh*

Oops. Let me see if I can find 2/3...yeah, I found it. Ain't No Sunshine.

YouTube - Kris Allen's AI Live! Set - 2/3

This was a louder audience than Portland, it seems to me. This is one thing I enjoy about watching tour videos. Last winter I watched Kalan's tour videos a lot, and the audience was different every night.

Are you guys interested in some print stuff? Or do you read everything on mj's blog, pretty much? I just fouond this stuff by Googling.

Seattle Times review of the show.
Anoop reports from the road.

missaddicted, looks like I mixed up Novelle Star and Star Academie. I can already see S.A. is better, after only watching a couple of videos (the last two).

Thanks for the videos, I'll be watching the rest of them tomorrow. I don't have the time now, unfortunately. My French is pretty bad, also.

Hey ross, did you want to comment on the Arkansan magazine article yesterday? I would be interesting in reading what you have to say about it.

I tryly love ANS (thanks for the new video by the way), but I think I prefer the version from the show. He changed some things in the version he does on tour, and I keep being disappointed because I keep expecting what he did on the show. The only thing I like more is the piano intro. Also, it's very short, which fit well on the show, but might be a bit of a let-down in a concert setting. Maybe it's all the screaming that makes me enjoy it less...

The version Ain't No Sunshine I liked best was the first one (Assuming you guys can see the AI website's videos in Canada).

Kris: ANS

I think I've just heard this a lot more than Bright Lights, at this point, so it doesn't have the same freshness. What are the things he changed? I'm curious.

I don't want to pick at his set, but it doesn't seem totally right, because for one thing he doesn't really do anything fun. Like She Works Hard For The Money. I think I just mentioned this about two days ago, so I'm repeating myself. Well, also, it's really weird to me that he doesn't get end-of-set applause. I mean, when you see someone do a concert or even a set, you need to applaud them for the whole thing. But his set segues into the idols coming onstage, and when he ends, they're all on, and the applause is for them, not him. Whoever thought this up?
I mean, have you ever seen a concert that didn't let you give the person a hand for their whole performance?

You guys, can you do me a favor and post a link to that Arkansan article? I can't remember where I saw it. I still haven't really read it.

Then I'll give you my usual not-so-brilliant insights on it. :)

Anoop tweeted (what is it, tweeted ot twittered? Someone please help me, here)
that Kris has been rehearsing his new song and it sounds great. I'm worried. Of course I am. I'm a Kris Allen fan.

Goofy interviews in Seattle.

Kris, rockin' the white Chucks.

Guys, I need some help, seriously. How do you read the Celebrate Arkansas aritcle? There's a scan on KrisAllenation, but I can't enlarge it.

I couldn't download it. Or, I couldn't open it. Thanks for the link, though. I'll have to look around for it elsewhere.

Yes!!! Just got home. I saw the news this afternoon, but I didn't know if it was still a rumor or what. MJ reports that he might do something by The Killers. Awesome! This should put some fun in his set. Kris doesn't want to do country, he wants to rock!

I guess 19 are not that stupid after all. It probably means that they've completely lost interest in the song since it's not really catching on the radio, contrary to what happened last year with the "Magic Rainbow". It's good news that he can drop the song from his set, but still, it would've been great if Kris' coronation song (one other that NB) could have had some success on the radio.

ross, I think the scans of the magazine are posted on page 439 of Kris' thread on TWOP or around that page.

The first version of ANS is also my favorite. The changes that I don't really like happen pretty much at the end. After the "I know, I know" part, he used to emphazine a lot on the first "Ain't" that comes after it, which brought a lot of intensity. Not, it looks like he has dropped that and he made some other changes after that that I don't completely remember right now...

Tried to listen to the cellcast. It was best on the first night. Tonight it's impossible to make out who's singing, even. I was hoping to hear Kris's new song.

Thanks, I'll try that later.

I guess it's not having huge success, but it was #18 or so on the Neilsen Soundscan adult contemporary chart for a couple of weeks and has dropped to 20 now. It was just ahead of Cook's single on that chart the last time I checked, but that might be different now.

I thought that was pretty good, since doesn't Kris get some money when it's played? But you're right, it's not exactly a hit.

Just want to confirm that it is indeed page 439. Huge scans were posted by "yeahcapes".

Thanks! I may have to wait until tomorrow to read it. Then I'll make my 'book report.' Ha.

Thanks for the link to the show program, SleepinIn.

Sound has improved on the cellcast. Slightly. Adam is singing. Mad World. Boy has pipes, all right. I don't really think the problem is in the cell phone, that sounds super clear. It's Rickey's mic, or something. Whenever he speaks, it has the same static/buzz.

Slow rah-ahhd...take it eee-zee...

Wow, we're getting pictures, too.

I think his set list is pretty good,, now. Bright Lights is on now. The audience sounds really with him tonight. Ooooh, sound just got crappy again.

The wierd thing is: his voice sounds so low again. Does he have a cold, or is this his new singing voice?

I have to say, he's great, but "traditional rock Kris" is kind of not what I want Kris to be after this tour. He has this macho-sounding voice I don't totally recognize. Do you guys know what I mean? I don't want Daughtry 2.0, I want Kris. Tender puppy. Mraz-Johnson-Nathanson-ish.

Well, listen to the videos, anyhow. I want a little more indie-ish originality. His unique mix of folkiness and r&b. Anyhow, holy crap, the crowd is really, really loud.

Awesome, he's doing "All These Things That I've Done"!! So excited! I love that song!

It's funny, Greg Neufeld performed that song on the top 10 show during season 5. Zack told him he was not "that rocker dude", but I really liked it. And now, Kris is doing it. And he's probably not "that rocker dude" either, but I think it's a great choice and I can't wait to see the videos.

And it's a fun song, no? I'm sure it will bring out more energy from the crowd than NB.

I know you would appreciate Kris to maybe go towards a little bit of urban music, ross, but in my case, I would really appreciate it if Kris goes more towards this pop-rock direction that he does seem to like singing/performing.
