hee - Kris knows his friend so well.
What do you mean? (Still not getting it.)
I follow Jann Arden on Twitter (kinda love her, but I don't know the song she's tweeting about) but it's not just new acts that have radio issues. She tweeted Virgin radio to play her new single.
Interesting. I don't think Kris need have had "radio issues." We all know it was moronic to release The Truth as the second single (though I now have come to like it as a song, and Kris's vocal - it was still a bad choice). And putting Pat Monahan on it was an insult to the fans, and the audience in general. If there's going to be a duet, or a bit of singing by the composer, or whatever, it has to help the song itself, not just be a cynical, "let's add another name to the song to sell it" thing.
This is more true of Kris than some others. His fans are more discriminating than some others - in my opinion, this is one reason they're his fans; they like an artist of his organic type, and may not be your standard-issue pop fans. So this move didn't sit well with them. And on a musical level, it wrecked the song, because a song is a story, and Kris is one of the better singer-storytellers. When he got to the high dramatic point of his story, someone else took it over. With another singer, this may not have even mattered, but with Kris it did matter because it's not just pop drivel, he's singing from the heart and he involves you in the song. All in all, Jive showed very little understanding of who he is as an artist, who his fans are, what they want, and what best puts Kris over on the radio to a wide audience. Epic fail.
(I've said a lot of this before.)
As for the song being pulled from VH1, I don't know how this stuff works. I never paid any attention to it before. The only example I have is Adam's FYE being pulled, and his label put out another single right away. I don't know what wil happen, with Kris. I'm more hopeful than
missaddicted, but I really don't have a clue.
I've watched American Idol since season 4 and my faves contestants were/are Bo Bice, Elliott Yamin, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, David Archuleta, Adam Lambert, Anoop Desai, Crystal Bowersox, Alex Lambert. I like a great variety of music. I watched Canadian Idol but I prefer American Idol TBH.
Thanks! I myself prefer Canadian Idol. The reason I started this thread was because it was cancelled, and some of us who had posted about it on another blog decided to watch AI together. I've never really warmed up to AI, to be honest. On your list, I mainly like Cook, Anoop, and Alex. Though I didn't really like too much Anoop did on the show, I always liked him, and he was really good when I saw him live (Idols concert).
It's cool you're an Adam fan, since it's nice to have a little different viewpoint here.
