Is "Go Boston" for the AI show tonight? I almost wish I went. Except I'm not a Siobhan fan. MJ says the crowd is good tonight, huh? :hello1:
The Go Boston was for TT being on Kiss. (that was boston, right?) I forgot about the Idol tour -- as one does. :p (usually) I'm glad they had a good crowd though. They need it after all the bad news re the tour.

Anyone else think it's weird that she needed "real confirmation" of something every recapper has mentioned since the concerts began? I mean, I just believed the recappers. Wouldn't you? I find her kind of overblown, at times.
Aw, I think she's sweet. Recaps are one thing.. actual verifiable proof is another in Idol fan warring. Photos are good. I believed the recappers and she probably did too, but it`s just nice to get the evidence so to speak. lol

Radio Alice are playing the live Kris tracks from his visit to their station tonight on their show. :) :) :)

Maybe I misunderstood. (And apparently there are not just LLWD videos, but also his Ford commercials).

You should leave a comment on the Alice page; didn't they say we should? That it would influence future programming? Hey, I love telling other people what to do!
I'm too lazy to do it myself (plus, a tad hung over, this morning. Ouch.) :eek:ccasion9:

I never watched Canadian Idol after they brought Anne Murray on as a mentor. OMG is that the best Canadian talent we can come up with?

That was the most unhip thing they could have done and I'm sure it was responsible for a few nails in the coffin of Canadian Idol.

LOL - probably so MapleOne.

But, when I think about mentors though.. hip doesn't automatically come to mind. It's the experience that I value with Anne. Sure Snowbird isn't what I want to hear from any new Idol folk but there is a wealth of knowledge there of the music industry and business background that is invaluable to any new artist.

HeHeHe

What about the fact that they all had to perform Anne's songs? That would have alienated the entire teenage viewing audience. I think the directors were completely out of touch with the demographics on who watched the show,

What happened with The Truth video shoot? I'm looking at MJ's headlines thread and I see they didn't film today. Know anything about it? I'm getting antsy because Kris's hiatus is only for a couple of days, right? Wonder what was wrong this time? This video needs to happen.

Did you read where Can't Stay Away is being test marketed (or whatever)? What is that site where they ask people to rate songs?

Ten dollar Idol tickets:

Music & nightlife | $10 tickets to American Idol Live! tour announced | Seattle Times Newspaper

Boston concert scene doing better than national average:

Artists are playing Boston’s tune - BostonHerald.com

Today this article in the Herald was advertised on the front page with a huge pic of the lovely and talented Tim Urban singing to lots screaming girls last night at the Idols concert. It was only Tim's back - and he wasn't identified - but I recognized the suit he wears in the concert.

Ugh. lost my post. Anyway.. as I was saying.

Video. They didn't shoot today per cindyvela and pboute she implied that she wouldn't know when they were shooting until they locked it down and tell her show up at such and such. Pat's part was completed as per an interview with him. I'm hoping they went jacket shopping today *fingers crossed*

Hitpredictor asked about CSA - I don't know if that means anything at all. Hitpredictor is different than ratethemusic. But they did ask so it's a big question mark.

$10 idol tickets.. wow the times they are a changing.

Did you see the article about concerts in Boston? I thought it was interesting.

Watch an extended AI Tour video ad here:

American Idol Tickets - American Idol Concert Tickets and Tour Dates | Official Live Nation Site.

Also, if you click on any of the film clips on the Herald page above (such as the Chaplin story) you get a 10-second ad for the Idols tour narrated by Kara.

But what - what - what does it mean?

Um, when was Pat's part shot, if it wasn't shot on the day it rained, or shot today? I don't get it.

I can't believe fans actually are remarking on Kris's jacket, in tweets to that model/actress who's in the video. Maybe they should leave the moviemaking to the professionals!?

(It's one thing for us to say it, but...well, being a fan of Kris, I'm getting an education in what fandoms are like. Pushy. In my opinion. Why do these women think they know how to run everything, or want a say in everything that isn't their business?)

Just read the Boston article. That's interesting that the maket is flourishing when others aren't. Guess that's why Kris has been in Boston so much too.

I think Pat's part was completed on the rain day. Pre-rain. (maybe)

fandoms are way pushy. And entitled, and annoying and yet artists need them, or they don't survive. I think Kris is pretty good about keeping a certain distance and yet remaining really accessable. It's a really tough thing to balance. I couldn't deal with the intrusion.

It occurred to me the other day that even though I don't like fandoms or people who are obsessed fans, or the whole idea of it, I'm following Kris's career on a daily basis. And while I'm not one of his inner circle of fans, I guess I know, vaguely, who those people are. Weird.

Thanks for that WPLJ article. I actually read it earlier today, but I guess I didn't pay enough attention!

Wonder why they didn't film today, though? Kris was photographed at LAX, so he came back to California. Do you think he came back for nothing? He has to start touring again Wednesday.

I don't know whether to go to Mixfest or not.

Just read the Boston article. That's interesting that the maket is flourishing when others aren't. Guess that's why Kris has been in Boston so much too.

Don Law has been promoting concerts here since I was in high school, I think. I guess he knows his business. (I had no idea he was still doing it until I read the article. I don't really understand what Live Nation is, though.)

I think Kris is pretty good about keeping a certain distance and yet remaining really accessable. It's a really tough thing to balance. I couldn't deal with the intrusion.

I think he keeps people at a distance by making himself available. I've met a lot of celebs over the years but no one I ever met was more accessible than Kris.

If someone is giving you the message, "I'm glad to be here talking to you. There's nothing I'd rather be doing," then maye they neutralize the whole sado-masochistic fan vs celeb thing. Where there is a lot of the "I know he doesn't care about me but I must see him" kind of emotion. Adam is more this other type, which is why he has fans that are that other type. In my opinion. He plays that game to the hilt.

In a way, Kris's accessibility probably is costing him the big, obsessed fandom. There's no inaccessible star aura. Today I read a comment under the Just Jared article about Keith Urban's comments about Kris. The person wrote something like, "Three cheers for the anti-celeb celeb!"

Speaking of access, I love this.

I'M SO BORED!

I depend on these nightly Kris concerts, apparently. Help.

Jason Castro tweeted this:

Be on the lookout for a Live EP :)

I want to be on the lookout for a live Kris Allen EP. I want that a lot.

"The biggest problem with last year's crop of idols wasn't that they weren't talented — they were very talented," Santilli said. "It was that they lacked personality. They weren't very good TV. The producers are going to be looking for another Adam Lambert or David Cook, someone that has a lot of energy and stage presence in order to capture the attention of viewers and get their audience back.

"I think they might put less of an emphasis on musicianship," Santilli added, noting the rash of instrument-playing the past two seasons. "Instead, I think they are looking for people with big vocals and big personalities. The last three winners have all been white, guitar-playing boys. And I think they want something different. I think they aren't looking for singer-songwriter types."

Go to Mixfest.

They may have been working on the video yesterday -- just a different part. Kris wouldn't tell ya anything so we'd never find out.

and yeah.. following Kris's career daily myself.. so no not obsessed at all. nope.

I think you're right Kris being accessible drives down the hysteria. I don't think he'd have it any other way though. I just can't picture Kris being happy if he couldn't walk down the street for a iced coffee, or hang out at the beach.

Kris and Adam came up on the radio this morning... it was about a blind item in the gossip pages about two guys in the music industry who were working together who fell in love.. caller suggested Adam and Kris... LOL.

I think I remember seeing that Jacob birthday thing years ago. It's sweet.. and also slightly disturbing that teenage girls bought him underwear with smack that on them. LOL

Dear AI personality is good.. but musical skill is the main thing. Try for both. Diversity is also a good strategy. Maybe musicians with more stage experience? Don't tell me they don't audition...

I answered MJ's opinion on her headlines thread. It's basically what you said, too. Musical skill is the main thing. (I said this, also.) And, I guess it's just me but for some reason I think K___ A____ has a lot of stage presence and energy. (You know. He Who Must Not be Named.) I must be dreaming. He really doesn't. It's a proven fact that audiences only watched Season 8 for Adam Lambert. If you don't believe it, just read MJ's blog every day until it is memorized.

Producers will be looking for another Cook or Lambert, to get their audience back. Because last season was all the fault of K___, the acoustic guitar player who made all those boring, lousy people show up this year, and made the judges choose them!

It seems to be implicit in her quote that the producers would not want another K___ A____, ever again. Because K___ leads to L__ D_____, and we wouldn't want either of them to succeed on AI. Cook is okay because he has lots of "energy". K___ and L__ have small voices, no energy, and no personality. From now on please remember that.

Did you see this contest for Mixfest?

Who do you want to meet at #MIXFest2010? Mix 104.1 Today's Best Variety – Homepage

It really makes me (I'd say angry but Idol doesn't really get me angry) but okay seriously annoyed. That Idol is probably going to go back to selecting people that are big personalities and not as musically talented.. I know it's a tv show.. and you need a certain amount of drama.. or it's boring as hell.. which it was... BUT imho musical talent really is a necessary component for me in a music star.. call me crazy.

If they have the ability to create their own music post-show then you are going to get something way more unique than you would with the stable of the usual Idol songwriters (as good as they are). Even if it's just a few songs on their albums to start with. So while boring is bad... don't pass on the talent.

I watched Alex Lambert video chat with fans earlier today. (very young fans) A lot of them were aspiring singers and he asked them to sing for him and gave some advice for trying out for Idol. Alex has learned a lot, he gave some really good advice -- I like him again. lol. He's bratty but honest. He talked about this years Idol and how no one liked it and asked the fans what they thought Idol would be like next year.

Well, I don't know. I think they might still be looking for musical talent. After all, that's what was in shorter supply this year. I don't actually care, at this point, I'm so sick of these people and the way they run their show.

By the way, Simon Cowell obviously wanted Lee to win. He apparently thought he had the stuff he (Simon) likes in a winner. Simon is a kind of representative of what the show wants. So why do people "blame" the voters for another white guitar guy? He had the endorsement of the show, the big production number, Simon on his side, everything. This is a little off topic, but just...whatever. It's on my mind.
