Oh, I like Slezak. I just kind of question how someone can mock people and then sit down later and make nicey-nice with them in interviews. It's just that it's two-faced. I suppose Cantiello does it, also. I've always found this to be odd. If these people were actually brave, they'd mock and laugh at them to their face.

But I do enjoy and like Slezak. He's such a likeable guy and the show is fun.

Well, anyhow...I think Kris impressed many in Boston this weekend.

I'm really glad I made it home in time to watch that live stream. Also, that was THE best quality live stream I ever saw.

SleepinIn, I'm glad you managed to find a good rat characteristic. :)

Wonder what year he was born in?

I've thought it was odd too that they (both of them) mocked and then interviewed the evictees. I think it's the nature of this show though. Everyone has an opinion, and Simon being nasty basically gave us all this percieved right to be mean. Jim and Michael get away with it, because they are also funny, and they also kinda love these kids.. and they work for big media. Plus they mock the show more itself the most. And kinda champion the contestants against the show if that makes sense.

I don't think Jim really interviewed them until last year's meeting with Kris.. or did he? Do you remember him interviewing David Missaddicted?

You're both right, that's a good point, I've had the same thought recently.

I don't think he did. I wasn't even reading his recaps last year and couldn't watch anything on the MTV website. I think it's only last summer that I really became aware of Jim. Actually, the only related Cook thing I've seen Jim write about is an article he posted after Cook did his "A Ficus Flows Between Us" video satire: David Cook And A Rubber Chicken Poke Fun At ‘American Idol,’ The Media MTV Newsroom

So, see? The reporters make fun of the contestants, but the contestants also make fun of the reporters!

David kind of stopped doing those videos after that Jim article though, so Jim might not be his best friend.

Oh, good point!! Me either. I had no idea who Jim was until people talked about Jim's Idol in 60 seconds in regards to Kris. I think Jim is still the only thing I can watch on MTV.
do do doo doo. *Twilight zone music*

Talking about MTV, they had a promo for Kris's episode of When I was 17 (I can't watch it) but it's there... lol

This is a good point! Or, those are good points. Or something like that. I need to go to bed. But I'm glad you guys noticed that, also.

I'm glad you guys can get some MTV stuff. Remember the time I did a transcript because you couldn't get the video? I hope you're able to see the "17" interview.

I need to go. SleepinIn, you saw Adam. How was he? I forgot to ask.

I just looked it up. The Biebs is a dog. Like me, MJ, Elvis, and Madonna. Oh, and Adam, of course. Brilliant talents, all. :-?

Top Idol linked to that. I'm one of the few who didn't think it was funny. I don't know why. (Just had to give my opinion. Such a spoiler!)

Well, to be honest, I didn't think it was Haha! Hilarious, but you know, it's classic Norman Gentle! I like his flat Simon Cowell!

Yeah, thank goodness someone mocks Simon, anyhow. He's so mockable. I'm surprised more people don't do it.

Top Idol reviewed the concert. Naturally the mj's blog Adam tards don't like it. They like the Rhode Island Journal review that liked Adam and not Kris (or The Script, I guess).

I enjoyed the part I saw (Kris's part). That was really great. TI also said Kris seems to get better each time she sees him, and I think that. myself.

Adam was really good. He was without his regular guitarist, and no dancers so the stage seemed a bit emptier than his usual parade ;) but he was good. IIHY got a great response from the crowd, and WWFM did as well. Strut was fun, and Sleepwalker..but I'd retire Music Again. That one I kinda hate. The intro was the kind of over the top nonsense Adam usually gets, LOL so I'm kind of used to people falling over themselves for Adam. I'd say he's still a bit practiced performance wise but I think Adam will loosen up when he's on his own tour, much like Kris does when he does his own shows. You can see a difference from the radio shows. Although I have to say Kris rocked Boston he just seemed to be having a ball on stage. I think Kris + band will blow people away on tour this summer.

WWFM is a huge hit on Kiss108.

I says it what shouldn't, but I still find it ironic that Adam is the one who needs more experience. (Just because of sparkly boasting, to the contary, that got my goat so many, many times. lol) But, yeah, generally, I think he does, because whatever he did before, it's not like being the star of your own "moment." It's a different experience being in the Zodiac show, musicals, even clubs. Being yourself on a huge stage and conveying that to every person in the audience can't be easy.

I don't know what Kris could have done better, though. He was like, I don't know. Even I'm a bit surprised. I shouldn't be, but it was like he's been at this for 10 years. He was so freakin' happy and relaxed. I'd be a wreck.

ETA: He's so lucky to have that band. Wasn't it cool how he described them as friends? One thing I sometimes have a slight problem with is how some solo artists who have bands don't really seem part of the band. Or the band seems personality-less and sort of unimportant. But Kris (like Cook) has this really front-and-center band that we all seemed to go for from their first performance. So it's like Kris is in a band, like a frontman, but also a solo artist, at the same time. (Adam, on the other hand, is more like Kalan, to me, in that he's not really reminiscent of a frontman. He's a singer who has a band. Kalan is also a musician, but he still doesn't come across as being in the band. Not saying this is bad, it's just a difference.)

One of my "friends" (fellow Kris fan from Texas) on twitter is at his show today/tonight. Tonight Train is the headliner.

The intro was the kind of over the top nonsense Adam usually gets, LOL so I'm kind of used to people falling over themselves for Adam.

I guess I am too, but I never understand it completely. to be honest. Hype is hype. You need to be in the business 20 years to earn those types of words. I think it endangers his status. You have to live up to hype, and I think what's been happening for a significant amount of time now is that he doesn't, quite. It's too bad he didn't win. Then he'd have to put up with way more bulls**t. It would be completely different, I think.

Oh, and by the way, who does Kris have to **** to get a good newspaper review?

True. You know the first time we saw them in Miami it was funny how good they already were together. They just really jelled really quickly.

Yep. That was luck, or Kris just has a knack of picking great people. I'm sure some came recommended by "the management." Anyhow, I love those guys, and they are super nice.

I'm kind of surprised they're so un-pierced and un (visibly) tattooed, for young musicians. That has crossed my mind a few times.

I have to say.

The body language in that pic indicates to me that Kris feels a bit forced, and reluctant. Like he can't fake that he's not super happy about dueting with Pat Monahan. Sometimes pictures do lie, though.

That's Kris's song. I think he feels it's his damn song.

That whole situation with that song is so damn awkward. Maybe I need to see the video to change my mind. I'm glad the song is doing well, but what if it would have done even better minus Pat M? We'll never know.

Last year's finale:

1. Top 13 – So What
2. David Cook – Permanant
3. Golden Idol Award – Nick Mitchell/Normund Gentle
4. Lil Rounds and Queen Latifah – Q The Rain
5. Alexis Grace, Anoop Desai, And Jason Mraz – I’m Yours
6. Kris Allen and Keith Urban – Kiss a Girl
7. Top 5 Girls – Glamorous
8. Fergie – Big Girls Dont Cry
9. Black Eyed Peas = Boom Boom Wow
10. Golden Idol Award – Bikini Girl
11. Vision of Love – Katrina Darrell and Kara Dioguardi
12. Time After Time – Allison Iraheta and Cyndi Lauper
13. Danny Gokey – Hello
14. Danny and Lionel Ritchie – Medley
15. Carlos Santana and the top 13 – Smooth
16. Ford Video – I Will Remember you
17. Megan Joy, Michael Sarver and Steve Martin –
18. Top 13 – Do You Think I’m Sexy
19. Rod Stewart – Maggie
20. Golden Idol Award – Tatiana Del Toro (Saving all my love for you)
21. Queen with Adam Lambert and Kris Allen Medley
22. Kris Allen wins.
23. Kris Allen -- No Boundaries.

Whoever did this list left out Adam and Kiss. Did they leave out anything else? By the way, Matt Giraud and Scott got screwed. Even if they got to perform this year. And Jorge. Why did Alexis get to sing with Mraz, and Jorge got...squat? American Idol, thou art so ****ed up. (Canadian Idol would have done the math, and everyone would have gotten a relatively equal amount of screen time. Because Canadian Idol was normal.)

I now wish that Kris had gotten to sing LLWD on this year's show. It'd probably be double platinum by now.
