The Adam-his band-his dancers expecting to be on the finale thing was probably because they were told they would be, then they got bumped. Do you think? But, that's showbiz. I've often thought that we know very little about the disappointments these people go through, that are kept hidden. I'm sure Kris has had his share. (What happened to his trip to England for his album debut? And the EP they were talking about? I doubt these are even big disappointments. Who knows what the big ones are?)

I was thinking (previously) about what they talked about in that Something Pitchy show. Last year, there was the Motown trip, the Dodgers game, there was the food fight in the house (I guess they didn't live in a mansion this season), and there were more exciting stars for the idols to meet, like Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, and others. There seemed to be a lot of stars. This year...Justin Beiber? Demi Lovato? (And sorry, but) Adam Lambert? It wasn't just the contestants -- the show just had no flash this year.

I got off topic but what I was saying about Adam was that it just seems wicked greedy of him to want to be on the finale, even if he was promised it. Just...chill, dude, you were on enough. There are other people.

(And I'm still not convinced he won't be, in some kind of last-minute surprise appearance. That would be typical.)

I'm thinking the lack of flash is combined with a serious lack of finances. When you think about it Idol is competing with glee now as well for song rights. Madonna's back catalouge can't be cheap. And you're right a trip to Vegas and Adam really doesn't compare to going to Motown and talking with Smokey Robinson.

They didn't really show any behind the scenes stuff this year did they? No wonder we're hostile towards these poor folk. We have no idea who they are. It's like a season full of bused contestants.

And disappointments must be huge I agree for every thing that works out there must be some that fall through. I think opening for Mayer is one that fell through for Kris. No real knowledge or info just a glimmer of a feeling (so pure speculation basically) I have since he went to John's concert on the day his album opened and mentioned Michael Franti opening for John. I think he was in the running for that opening slot. I have to say though.. kinda glad that didn't work out. I like the mish mash of opening gigs he has going on with BNL, Maroon 5, The Fray, Daughtry, Keith, Lady A, and then the GRO thing. It gets the band in front of a lot of folk that aren't necessarily Idol fans. He got a great reception at Lady A, and Keith's concerts. People really liked him. And casual fans are good for single sales.. and radio requests not from typical crazy Idol fans. (myself included, lol)

LOL - watch out for that fog.. Lambert's inside. :)

Kris gave the cars to Lee and Crystal today.. so we'll see that footage too.. hopefully.

RT @smores100: Kris will perform at 8am in the pre-kiss concert live show they’re doing tomorrow morning. http://tinyurl.com/2bx3jqb about 7 hours ago via Echofon

This is cool. I can turn on my radio tomorrow morning and hear Kris, live.

(What's probably not so cool is that he has to get up early, and do this at 8am, and then perform 13 hours later, that night, from 9pm onward. That has to be exhausting.

ETA: Help me out, I need some clarification.

When you think about it Idol is competing with glee now as well for song rights.

Not sure what you mean by this. How are they in competition?

LOL - watch out for that fog.. Lambert's inside.

Didn't understand this.

It's possible, about John Mayer. I mean, the disappointment. When did Kris mention Michael Franti?

I don't think Kris with John Mayer is a great fit. Don't ask me why. It would give him some kind of validation, I guess, but on the other hand, the first thing everyone says these days when JM is mentioned is "asshole." More than that, though, Kris is "warm" and JM is "cool." I mean, musically. I think KU is a much more dynamic headliner for Kris to open for. And both are "warm".

The show is on Saturday so he should be alright! Even if the two shows were on the same day, I'm sure he'd be okay, the radio show will be what? a couple of songs? Even if he had to do both in the same day, I wouldn't pity him too much, I've seen worse days!

Not sure what you mean by this. How are they in competition?

I'm not SleepinIn, but she probably said that because the two shows are on FOX. The networks have the money and they do the budgets.

Didn't understand this.

She meant that if there's a big cloud of fog during the finale, Adam will be hidden in it.

Oh, oh, and oh. I get it. Thanks.

I've seen worse days!

I thought the concert was that night. I was just saying that having to get up at probably 6am or earlier, it might be hard to summon all the energy needed for a big set at 9pm. No offense but most people don't understand what performing is like. It's unique. Emotionally and physically. You need a lot of stamina for it. Kris has that, but it's like running a race. You might not want to get up at 6am to run a 9pm race.

But it's not the same night anyway, so forget it.

Okay so I listened to Kris on Kiss108 this morning. Matty In The Morning was being broadcast from Rowe's Wharf. Seemed to be a lot of people there (If I'd known more in advance that Kris would be performing outdoors this morning, I might have been there). Anyway, they mentioned LLWD and TT, and gave Kris a big intro, like, "of all the people in this country who try out, this guy made it all the way." Etc.

Then as soon as he came out, Matty goes right into Adam. Re the Kiss concert: "So, you can't escape this guy. He follows you everywhere." And he said several other things that implied Adam's fame is some kind of thorn in Kris's side, which I found way annoying and rude-ish. But Kris really didn't answer very much, so it didn't go anywhere. Matty did keep saying, "But you won." As in, "He had the cover of Entertainment Weekly, but you won." Then Kris would just be basically...silent. Haha.

Matty at one point mentioned that everybody there was standing for him (Kris), and Kris said, "They're standing for you."

Anyway, they went on to talk about how Kris only found out yesterday Adam would be there at the show, and how they texted about it. So all this talk, rather than being about Kris, or his summer tour, or anything, was just about Kris-Adam, and also a bit about when Kris was in Boston previously on the Idols tour.

Then Kris sang LLWD (probably with Cale) and it was really good. He sounds so great live.

After that they played some songs, did the traffic report, and when they cut back from the traffic report, Kris was in the middle of singing The Truth, which (from the little I heard) sounded awesome. Unfortunately Matty talked over the whole song and did a commercial for Hoodia. Then before the song ended, they cut to Ke$ha singing Tik-Tok.

I was kind of disappointed he didn't get to promote The Truth on the air. Well, not "kind of." I was disappointed.

Today is a gorgeous day, btw. About 75 degrees right now and sunny.

That version of The Truth is awesome.

I think you can tell I've become a convert to The Truth.

I never heard Kris's voice with that roughness (in spots). I'm guessing that's because it's his morning voice.

Hee! Missaddicted that's exactly what I meant. :)

I tuned in this morning to the radio show at work (ha!) and heard LLWD - It sounded great. I missed the interview completely - good thing I did I guess. The Truth was great thank god for crazy Idol fans you can count on them for HD video :) when stupid radio shows cut you off mid song.

Are you sure there are really two of you? You think so much alike. I suspect sockpuppets.

I didn't understand what people were talking about (on the blogs) when they said The Truth was cut off mid-song. I guess the live stream was different from the broadcast. On the broadcast he never even started it. Something else was on, like the traffic report.

Anyhow, if you want to hear the banter, MJ has it up now.

Today after work I was listening to Kiss108 and they were giving away tickets to the concert. The DJ said you could go to the concert and see, "Ke$ha...Adam Lambert...and The Script! The Script is going on early so be sure not to miss them!"

And that was it. If you recall, about a month ago I wrote here that I was listening to Kiss108 and they announced the stars of the concert as Ke$ha, Adam, and The Script ("coming over from Ireland").

They had been mentioning Kris, earlier, but once Adam was added, they stopped. They weren't playing LLWD as much, any more, so I stopped listening to the station and I have no idea who they've been announcing since.

But I thought it was bad that they have him headlining the concert and they don't even feel mentioning his name in ads is a good thing. Like, why is he headlining, in that case? Adam is the one featured in all their ads, anyway.

They have Adam scheduled to go on before Kris. But I wonder if that's what they really wanted. Anyhow, I'm sorry they aren't giving Kris the proper recognition in their publicity.

Totally sockpuppets. It took you long enough to discover "The Truth". Heh!

Apparently, Kris IS playing a show tonight at a private event.

Someone on my twitter feed sent me down the rabbit hole of the season 7 group numbers. Hadn't seen that in ages! Nice to see lipsynch-free group numbers!

This one is just hilarious. They're like shuffling around the stage in pairs, LOL.

I kinda love this one!! Both completely cheesy and totally endearing!

On the stream they said The Truth was for the people who came down in person and that if they were upset they didn't hear it then next year they should know to come down for special performances.

*sigh* cheesy group numbers are always better without lipsynching.

Richard Rushfield has really lost all credibility with me. Well, actually he lost it when he went to the Idols concert last year and after Adam performed he said he just saw history being made, or something ridiculous like that -- as if Adam was going to be the Biggest Star Ever. I just don't know what happened to the guy. I used to think he was good.

Doesn't Richard like Katie Stevens this year? Yeah, not so worried about his opinion. ;)

Also Adam was on Leno again? Is Leno having problems getting guests or is this like a monthly thing?

Exactly. He's lost his marbles. Last year he described Kris as "painfully nice" and somehow misunderstood him totally. Well, at the LA show last year he said that thing about Adam, which I thought was way OTT, and though he did say Kris proved why he won, he always sounded to me like he felt vaguely sorry for the poor, sensitive soul. Anyway, he liked him but didn't seem to get him.

Recently he said Adam, Cook and Archie were the recent breakout stars AI. That is what annoyed me. I think Kris is at least on the Archie level in terms of star potential.

Also Adam was on Leno again? Is Leno having problems getting guests or is this like a monthly thing?

IKR? Adam comes out with a new single and new video like, every week or so, right?
Then he has to make the rounds. He'll probably be on Oprah again, soon.

Aww, look what Archie had to say about David Cook winning in his book:

That's really nice! Archie, Cook, Kris, they seem to have real humility. It's refreshing. I guess Lee and Bowersox seem to, also (don't know them very well). So...I just thought of something. This will be the first time a northerner wins American Idol. Depending on how far south Toledo is -- I forget. Some southern parts of Ohio are basically like the south, anyway.

Okay, finally watched The Truth from yesterday morning. I'm still not over the moon, but the acoustic version is a vast improvment over the bombastic full-band version. Could he at least always perform it like this?

I like the full band version too! #thethruthrules

(I know, I know...)

Someone tweeted Kiss108 played TT today, and Mix104.1 played it three times (if I'm remembering that right).

Kris has merch for sale at the Kiss Concert.

Oh, and I just read a tweet that I would guess is from the Philippines, that said The Script did the first version of LLWD. Did you guys know that? Who are The Script?

Never heard of them ;)

For some reason I turned on the Kiss concert at 2:25 pm. WTF. Good thing I'm going out Or I'd watch this all day. Ayla Brown was on -- she's not a bad singer.. but holy crap does her song suck.

also former Kiss radio guy David Corey is the current program director at CHUM. It's totally his fault CHUM's been so slow with Kris. LOL
