way to burst my bubble! I was feeling all brilliant...

And I thought you were just following my prediction from Top 5 elimination night (Mike, then Casey, then Lee, then Crystal). Which I think may be wrong, now. Freaking Lee DeWyze is STILL trending on twitter? What is there about that guy? The brilliant vocals? The way he looks like he sleeps 12 hours a day? The brilliant vocals?

I just checked twitter. Actually, one thing being posted on twitter over and over is this. cutejessi4 lee dewyze WTF!! What a sultry Sexy girl squirting and Playing on cam.. Go to see here (I'll spare you the link.) That is apparently a big reason why Lee is trending.

Someone on MJ's yesterday said that Kris (who's not a cryer, like Lee) would have sold 100,000 more copies of his CD if he had cried at the finale. (I think it was just another way of bringing up his CD sales, actually. Just because it's the one area he's not especially excelling at. That, and -- I don't know if you've heard -- he's not very tall.)

I think that's ridiculous. If Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges had given K*** (who shall not be named) the build up during the show last season that they gave Adam or that Lee is getting from them, that might have given him a wee bit more of a boost, album wise.

Do people really love Lee that much?? :-?

BREAKING NEWS: LEE DeWYZE is the 1st Season 9 contestant to debut on Billboard charts. His "Slumberland" enters Heatseekers chart at #32

About the finale. I'm glad I get to see Kris perform, and all, but I can't see that it will make a huge impresssion. Sandwiched as it will be between all the glitzy intros of the big stars, and all the rest of the finale stuff. They wanted to give Adam the showcase and they did. Granted, if he didn't need it they wouldn't have had to do it. That helps me a little. ;-)

I'm ambivalent about Lee. I understand why people like him (his interesting tone, his good songwriting, his demeanor, he has something sweet and puppy dog about him, I'm sure some girls think he's cute, etc), but I also understand why people don't like him (the off-pitch vocals, the lack of stage presence, confidence and personality, the pimping, etc). I like him... a bit. I might have liked him more if he had delivered better on Idol. I understand they wanted to get him an "underdog" edit, but they definitely over-played their hand on that, and Lee was starting from such a low point that he still hasn't reached what I would call the acceptable level of confidence for a performer.

So, anyway, I like Slumberland a lot and I'm glad that it's getting attention enough to be on a Billboard chart, but he's not great (as a performer) yet. Will he ever be? Maybe, I'm not ruling it out, but he has a long way to go.

On the other hand, Crystal is already very very good. But she's not that exciting. She seems to have a good level of confidence, but she doesn't really shine either. She doesn't really have that star quality. And she didn't really demonstrate a growth arc on Idol either, so has she already reached her maximum? I think a lot of people are asking themselves that question. It's harder to root for someone who seems to already have reached their maximum.

From MJ's blog:

I posted this last night, but it was really late, so I’m bringing it over here in case few saw it. There will be a live stream for the KISS 108 concert that Kris and Adam are part of in Boston on Saturday. As of right now, Adam is scheduled to go on at 8 p.m. local time, while Kris will be the final act of the night, going on at 9 p.m.

I can't believe it. If Kris goes last, the audience will be walking out on him again! That concert is huge and I'm sure a lot of people leave early to beat the traffic jams. (Not ot mention, the walking-out Adam fans, probably.) Whaaat?

JINX.

Ironstone Amphitheatre where Kris will perform (with The Fray):

Well, if he has the last spot, I take it to mean the radio station believed he would be a big enough draw! I take that as good news! They usually put the bigger act last during those shows, not first! And it's not like the Kradison show, I'm sure most people won't be there only to see Adam, they'll be there to see all the acts. It'll be fine.

Ack! David is writing with Ryan Tedder right now. Ugh!

Okay. All I was trying to say was that this place, which is in the middle of nowhere, has bad traffic problems, and many people leave before the end of the concert, so people are going to walk out on the last act, especially if they didn't come specifically to see that act (which means: a lot of people. I doubt most people are going to the Kiss concert just to see Kris). So a lot of people are going to walk out on Kris. It's a given. (Not in droves, necessarily, but at least, some.) Not a reflection on how good he is or isn't or popularity or anything. Just traffic.

Leaving the venue is absurd. I know that it's difficult to move thousands of cars easily, but there has to be a better a way. I will work on and then submit my proposal, and everyone will love me. Took us 1 hr to get out of there, and another 1.5 hrs to get home cuz they were night-paving Rte 495.

There is a hideous amount of traffic leaving parking lot.

I am concerned about the nightmares I keep reading about leaving the venue and its parking. Is it total chaos - or is it just - organized chaos due to the size of the crowd?

Its bad. Ive been stuck there 2 hours before.

So, coincidentally or not, Adam plays at 8:00, and I don't know who goes after him and before Kris, if anyone, but I'm pretty sure what people will spin that into, if people leave because of traffic. Maybe I'm wrong. Here's hoping.

[ETA: The traffic is not actually a nightmare. It's orderly, there are police directing it, etc. I've never been, but my friends have told me. It's just long. Maybe I'm exaggerating how many people will leave early. I know when I've been to Tanglewood (summer home of the BSO, in the Berkshires), people leave even if some big star is playing, right in the middle of a concerto, or whatever. Because they don't want to sit in traffic for an hour. And that's a three hour concert. Kiss concert is all day. So who knows? I hope I'm wrong.]

Maybe it's not. Now I'm reading some other stuff that says it's not bad. I guess it all depends on who wants to stay just to see Kris. My friends went to the Panic! At The Disco - Fall Out Boy - Blink 182 concert, and of course everyone was there to see Blink 182, since it was a comeback concert for them, so nobody probably left.

I'm probably just worrying over nothing. I just assumed he wouldn't go last (I thought Ke$ha would), so I never thought about this being a problem. And maybe it's not.

Of course, there will be plenty of riled up Adam fans, who think he (Adam) should go last, because they think he should get everything all the time. But never mind them, they're not a concern of mine.

I have to admit I wasn't thrilled to hear Kris would go on last either. I mean in some ways it's good. It means the station likes him, but in others.. man I just don't need the stress.. LOL the radio site did say the line-up could change.... but then I thought.. wouldn't it be awesome to finish the concert on LLWD? Crowd singing along...

WHoot for David and Kris.. so glad kris made the top 10,,, but go Kellie Pickler, wow.

i guess songwriting pays the bills.

I wonder where Adam figures in their calculations? Adam's got to be making money, although he hasn't done that many shows really, and has spent a gazzillion dollars on videos (good investment) and spiky jackets (bad investment)

Kellie Pickler's number is just crazy! Good for her! And Carrie made like 20 million in two years. I don't pity these people!

Adam? My guess would be that if they had included a few more spots in their list, he would have been there for sure. Maybe even #11. There must be a question of recoupment as well. All that promotion and expensive videos must have cost a lot!

Warning: the next video may cause cuteness overdose.

Andy Skib (Cook's bandmate) with his puppy Amos... the cutest thing you'll see today:

Kris made more money than four of the other former Idol winners. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, TWoP troll from hell!

In other news, this (innacurate in a lot of ways) article seems to indicate Adam is rich and Kris is a flop. (Love that #1 song, WWFM.)

Not sure where Adam would be making his money. Other than albums. He has no Ford commercials or Gibson endorsements, or the Disney stuff, like Kris, and he hasn't toured yet. Other than albums, singles, and his Idols tour pay (which was less than Kris's), he hasn't done a lot that would make him rich.

Yeah, I rolled my eyes at that report you posted, ross.

Kris made more money than four of the other former Idol winners.

Three, in fact (Kelly, Carrie, Jordin and Cook are on the list).

And I actually didn't have any doubts that he would have made more money than Ruben, Fantasia and Taylor!

But he has the lowest selling album of all the Idol winners!! And that means much more than how much he made vs. Ruben made last year! Ask MyWayToday.

Yeah, you're right, he made more money than those three, not four. I was counting 9 seasons, but of course the winner of season 9 is still officially uncrowned (and poor) right now.

So, I brought this up the other day, but what do you guys make of Adam's re-tweeting, to all his followers, the tweet someone made that said they'd asked AI to let him perform his single on the finale? I mean, he re-tweeted this, and answered, "Aaw, sweet." Someone on TI (not especially an Adam hater) said this was "tacky", and it summed up my feelings perfectly, to be honest.

The re-tweet and the next tweet were odd. Especially since it seemed like Adam's band were trying to encourage the fans to get Adam on the show. The tweets for sure showed that Adam was disappointed but yeah, i thought it was a bit snotty to tweet that.

Did you guys watch the Something's pitchy roundtable with Alex this week. I'm just reading Mj's and everyone is calling alex douchy for giving his opinions. I actually don't think he was too bad on the show., and is actually kind of funny and honest. Even about himself and his time on the show. I guess they never watched Alex on IICD - lol - because he's said much worse there. Alex drives me nuts on the dream house, but he's a young guy and he also makes me laugh. And I like his voice... but you know how After the finale i found out how awesome Kris was as a person... Not quite the same with Alex. I like him.. but boy can he be immature and irritating.

Haha. I'm watching something pitchy right now.

People on MJ's calling other people douchey? Please.

But Alex's ego is large. He'd be more likeable if he didn't find fault with people who were, like, #3, while he went out in the semis.
