I think it would probably work better for me, because I do think the song is overwrought and I don't actually like whe Kris belts like that, it's not the side of his voice that I like. The thing is, even when they do it acoustically, I'm not a big fan of it, Kris is still trying to belt. Also, it kind of has this typical ballad feel that countless songs have and I just don't really find it original (reason # 17 why I don't want it as a single).

Exactly!! I'm surprised it hasn't occurred to him to try it that way.
The thing is, though, it's a "big pop power ballad" or something, and it's probably pointless to do it soft and tender, since there are way better songs to do that way and this one was really written to be belted out.
I hardly ever dislike how Kris sounds so it's weird to me to listen to him singing something and not like the quality of the sound. I'm shocked people working with him, or he himself, failed to notice it's not the best song for his vocal abilities. (Then again, SleepinIn loves it, so maybe we're crazy.)
Okay, assuming they're determined to release The Truth. I think it's a mistake, but I say, if you must, don't release the album verion, or this version. Just record a shorter version, with Kris alone. And make it a little more relaxed. I just can't picture myself enjoying listening to this song on the radio. And I'm a huge Kris fan. So that's saying something, right?

I'm shocked they felt Kris can't carry a second single without needing to put Pat Monahan, Monaghan, whatever, on it. And I'm surprised they gave him (Pat) one of Kris's best parts and cut Kris out of that part! (And shocked Kris agreed to it. If he did.)

As for AWM, I can't ever get out of my head hearing it in Worcester, and MJ sitting to my left, turning to me as we were applauding, with her eyes opened wide like she was shocked at how good it was, and saying, "That was f***ing awesome!!" I felt the same way. But if we had just heard The Truth, would we have had that reaction? (No.)
I thought it was significant because it was clear to me she was not otherwise a raging Kris fanatic.
(So this was the first time I really thought I had some proof of how popular this song could be -- her reaction, and also the reaction of the audience.)

But, hey good news in some ways. Maybe the whole uproar is actually a proof that Kris's fans are not all a bunch of lazy people, LOL. Yep, even us the lazy Kris tards can angst, just like a regular fanbase!

The thing is, I already don't trust 19 and their friends at all right now. And a lot of things they do just confirm that I'm right in not trusting them.
