Lots of twitter chatter about Kris opening for someone big - not John Mayer - not Paul McCartney - but BIG.
Adam Lambert?
Uggh, I suppose I'll just have to ride out the temporary Adam storm, as it were, as his fans delight in his rise on iTunes, even though if he gets American Idol as his personal showcase for two nights running, what else can you expect? That, and the buying of multiple copies which is as blatant as it is stupid.
Someone on MJ's compared the sales this week of LLWD vs. WWFM, and I was going to write, you can't fairly compare them unless Kris also went on AI at the same time and got the same ass-kissing, because...well, you just can't. It's like comparing the box office of two movies when one got all the publicity and another got none. (Also, the concerted multi-buying efforts which are laid out in detail on several forums on the internet.) But I didn't. Why give the bitches the satisfaction?? lol
Where was I?
Oh, yeah. I wouldn't want Kris to open for Paul McCartney. People I know who are in their 60's and 70's go to his concerts. Not that that matters, I guess, but I just don't see that people going to a concert by "living legend Paul McCartney" would care who is opening for him, or pay any attention to him. They're there to see Paul. And the age difference is huge...I don't know, I just don't see it as a good fit.
I don't even know if I'm happy about Kris opening for someone huge. I would rather see him sharing the stage with a few acts his own age and maybe his own level of fame or a little bigger. (One Republic was pretty good.) So that he stands out. If he opens for Bon Jovi or somebody like that, he just won't stand out against the hugeness of the other act and its popularity.
John Mayer seemed like a pretty good fit, to me, maybe because he's attracting a less raucous audience than some acts and he himself is a solo singer.
