Michael Orland, Debra Byrd talk Season 9 singers - Idol Chatter: American Idol News, Rumors, & Information
^^Got around to reading this (I think you referred to it, SleepinIn).
Thank goodness there was yet another plug for Adam from Michael Orland. Because he isn't overpraised enough, and needs the publicity. :angry3:
I don't care for that remark, either! It sounds more like Tess, on mj's blog. (A hootenanny, I believe, is a big ol' country/folk music get together, with lots of guitars and banjos, and all the folks in the audience joining in, singing, dancing, clapping, etc. Very informal and down-home.) What is this old-fashioned notion, lately, that guitars = country/folk? People have been paying attention to rock, soul, pop, etc. for the past, oh, fifty years, right?

Byrd, who said she was surprised by the elimination of Lilly Scott (and earlier Joe Munoz and Ashley Rodriguez), said she's never seen a finalist group with so many guitar players and jokes "we have to be careful so it doesn't sound like a big hootenanny."
