Nah. Blame the companies that dismantled our manufacturing capabilities and sent all sent it all to China, Bangladesh, India and Mexico. Cheap labour and the Shareholders lapped up the profits.
Chinese build to the buyers specifications in many cases, this is not to say that the Chinese are not past masters of shaved coins, they are, many products imported into the west are cheap and shoddy by western design, not by Chinese design. I have had very good service from Chinese engines for instance, at half the cost of comparable western engines. So the label MADE IN CHINA does not automatically qualify the product as junk.
With all the Syrian refugees coming in, I bet Canada's hummus production increases significantly way more than we can consume.

It just occurred to me, the little pocket knife I carry everywhere and use a lot is a Buck. It is made of stainless steel and is quite high-quality stainless at that. It has "China" stamped on it.So the label MADE IN CHINA does not automatically qualify the product as junk.
So maybe I exaggerated a bit, but we are cautious about any electronics we get.

I don't blame anyone for checking thier stuff out cuz I got burned by Chinese stuff as well but many times it is the importer who's doing the dirty on us.
