Meanwhile violent crime rates are now 14% HIGHER than the US.
Canada has become fentanyl factory.
Revolving door bail system
A cap on federal prosecutions.
Canada is now a crime vacation destination.
It became a haven for terrorists and criminals. This fucking govt even let members of the IRGC into Canada AFTER listing the IRGC as a terrorist group.

It's adorable how you think decline is only associated with economic factors.

Not as adorable as how you think (if I can dignify your knee-jerk whining with that term) that someone who presents a datum has nothing else to present.

That's all you ever present. Oh, economic factors are fine so things must be all hunky-dory.
Oil price is about to take a hit. OPEC is increasing production.

OPEC
OPEC+ has finally decided to go through with its long-delayed oil production increase, adding about 138,000 barrels per day to its production plans beginning in April, according to Reuters calculations. It's the first output hike for OPEC since 2022, marking a cautious step toward unwinding the 2.2 million bpd in cuts the cartel has been clinging to like a security blanket.

If the economic factors were down, you'd be touting them as surefire signs of DOOOOOOM!

Since they're not, you look for something else you can tout as a surefire sign of DOOOOOOM!

And nothing's ever a problem that needs to be addresses. It's all evidence of inevitable, unstoppable DOOOOOOM!

A strong economy is a good thing. Not the be-all and end-all, but a good thing. Well, to sane people anyhow. Not to preachers of DOOOOOOM!

Enjoy your self-pity.

Unfortunately, we do not have a strong economy. Much of that economic output is directly related to rampant and unsustainable government financing of projects caused by importing a million people a year. There is also a significant amount of tax dollars being spent on navy and coast guard ships.

Nothing wrong with purchasing and operating navy and coast guard vessels . At least there is a return on investment .

Better ROI if they were Privateers who bought their own vessels. We could use a guy like Francis Drake patrolling the coast.
In a sailing ship with muzzle-loading guns. Because if you put Drake on the bridge of a modern ship, he'd end up curled up in the corner sucking his thumb.

So... we SHOULDN'T spend money on Navy and Coast Guard ships?

Maybe pushed back for a few months because the Saudi's are about to sign a Trillion dollar trade deal with the US

Dropping the price of gas would put a lot more people on the road imo

We need to. But since it is tax money, or more properly borrowed money, it is not really helping the economy as such. Some of it is little more than welfare, both corporate and worker because of the way some of the contracts are awarded. Also an incredible amount of waste. The company my son works for did a bunch of pipe work for the ships Seaspan is building in Esquimalt. They were getting design changes after some parts were already installed. Out with the new, and in with the newer.
