So are you trashing Obama, or are you trashing the mainstream press (probably you are trashing both)?
Of course they are. As are blacks, Hispanics, pro choice women, non Christians etc. They are all incompatible with the Tea Party. It is the extreme right wing Republican base, after all. It is another incarnation of the religious right.
So let us see. according to you, Obama is a Muslim terrorist, and an illegal alien. Can there be another definition of blind, burning, visceral hatred?
Anyway, if he is a Muslim terrorist and an illegal alien according to you, what kind of penalty would you want for him? Deportation, imprisonment, death, torture, what?
Incidentally as to Bush calling homosexuals faggots, plenty of activiists on the right refer to them as faggots. They also refer to them as sinners, as perverts, as pedophiles, as lowlife and so on. Gays have been called every epithet in the book by the right and the far right.

The mainstream media is mostly unbiased with the exception of Washington Times, FOX etc. They are the mouthpieces of the Republican Party.
left wing? Nah... from what I see media out of the US is just mostly mouthpieces in general. There are left and right in large amounts. I find it hard to watch any of the channels because they all couch op-ed and speculations as 'news'. One of hubby's coworkers commented that Canadian news is weird... it just tells you what happened! lol.
It seems to me that main stream media was much more critical of Bush back then and even Clnton before him I had been watching CNN and NBC since the 90's and during the 2008 election I subscribed to Fox also on my dish because what I saw on the other two channels seemed to be one sided compared to what I was getting on the internet.
One thing that struck me was that I never saw a condescending press secretary like the one in the white house now, the way he tried to dress down a fox reporter who asked a question, just because of a comment a guest had made on Fox.
I also agree that there is bias by some of the commentators on fox, but at least that news organization reports all the news.
It may not always be front page, but it's there.

And why is it any different coming from the president? Are you saying president does not have freedom of speech, that Obama must clear everything he says with Republicans and with teabaggers to make sure that it doesn't offend them?
What do the teabaggers care anyway? According to them, Obama is a Nazi, a Communist, a Muslim terrotist etc. Surely teabaggers don't care what such an individual thinks?
