Actually, it does change.

Silver is just an element (or chemical if its not pure). An organism can build up an immunity like anything else.

Now some elements (Chlorine, Fluorine, Arsenic) are very hard to build up an immunity to mind you...
Can you mention even one?

(in part)
In the 1920's, 30's and 40's, silver was ground very fine like flour, suspended in water and was used orally for many infections and disease conditions, topically on burns, and for fungal infections. Over 650 bacteria, virus, and fungi were considered treatable with this silver in 1938. With the development of the patented antibiotics, silver was forgotten in the United States and most other places, although the antibiotics are only effective against bacteria, not viruses, yeast, or fungi, as is silver. Now, with the greatly improved modern colloids, the tables are turning and silver may be the most effective treatment. The 1994 issue of Newsweek featured a six page article, "Antibiotics, The end of Miracle Drugs?" as the cover story. "The rise of drug-resistant germs is unparalleled in recorded history," according to the article. "Penicillin and tetracycline lost their power over staph back in the 1950's and 60's. Another antibiotic, methicillin, provided a backup for a while, but methicillin-resistant staph is now common in hospitals and nursing homes worldwide...Trying to cripple bacteria's defenses...will not do much more than buy us five to ten years... A better strategy might be to abandon antibiotics altogether in favor of different kinds of drugs." Not a very pretty picture.
The September, 1995 issue of Time Magazine featured an article titled "Revenge of the Killer Microbes." Sounds like a science fiction thriller, doesn't it? But Time was serious. "Faced with AIDS, and with an ever increasing number of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, doctors were forced to admit that the medical profession was actually retreating in the battle against germs. The question ceased to be, 'When will infectious disease be wiped out?' and became 'Where will the next deadly new plague appear?'...Humanity once had the hubris to think it could control or even conquer all these microbes. But anyone who reads today's headlines knows how vain that hope turned out to be. New scourges are emerging -- AIDS is not the only one -- and older diseases like tuberculosis are rapidly evolving into forms that are resistant to antibiotics,...In 1992, 13,300 hospital patients died of infections that resisted every drug doctors tried."

Edit:

Oh, and your kidding yourself if there isn't profit involved in these other safer* treatments.

* Im not sure what treatment you are referring to, so it may or may not be safer.
In the case of colloidal silver, the best you can get is what you make yourself so why would anybody go out and purchase something that, once you spend a whole $20, you can make several hundred gallons of it. (once you buy the distilled water which is about $2/4ltrs where I live and that amount should last you about a year) I'm quite sure you could buy some on-line for $20/oz that probably has no silver in it, it also degrades quickly if exposed to any light other than amber so freshness is a factor

Its a whole $20 NOW, but someone is the one you are giving that $20 to. Supply and demand, if wholesale switches to silver occur, expect the price to rise drastically, and profit accordingly.

Oil would be dirt cheap too if it wasn't for the fact that billions of people want it, if only a few hundred thousand did you'd pay more for the barrel it came in.

LOL the $20 (or whatever) is for the 99.999% silver wire (14 gauge, 2 pieces of equal length) and the 30volt DC transformer (about $2 at any second-hand store, most printers come with that spec on their power supplies). That wire will last you about 10 years, for a family of 4. Compare that cost to any thing else that covers the same ailments.

Why you are comparing it to oil I have no idea? Of those 650 'things' is was effective against it it still just as effective against, that list might even be higher as some of those 'things' may have mutated to a certain extent in reaction to 'modern drugs'.

I'm interested in making one of these generators. Having skin problems I've pondered giving it a try topically (I think people are nuts to ingest it, but, to each their own I suppose), and for sterilizing around the house. I just wonder what it does to the bacteria in septic systems and lakes/streams, where they're necessary.

I haven't read anything that would indicate a need to eat yogurt after drinking it so it would not seem to have any effect on that type of bacteria.

" Colloidal silver is believed to work by essentially “choking” harmful bacterial cells. When silver comes into the proximity of harmful bacteria, it disrupts an enzyme that it needs in order to process oxygen properly. Without oxygen, the bacteria quickly die. Colloidal silver is thought to be able to kill harmful bacteria while leaving healthy tissue and cells untouched because cells that are natural to the body have a much thicker cell wall than bacteria cells."

Did you know the drops they put in babies eyes at birth used to be CS, who knows what it is these days. I've tried it with the stuff I make and it actually stings a bit when you first do it but they aren't near as sensitive to second-hand smoke or pollen reaction for weeks after, like you say, to each his own.

The thing is though there's no real difference between harmful bacteria and good bacteria as far as their respiratory processes go, so how can it possibly effect one and not the other?

Colloidal Silver

Due to FDA assertions that colloidal silver (CS) is now considered a drug and under their jurisdiction, we have removed Colloidal Silver products from our Products page, but our Deluxe Colloidal Silver Generators are still available, so you can make your own. The present deal with the FDA is this: If you publish articles about all the wonderful things that colloidal silver can do for you, you can't make the colloidal silver itself available because-according to the FDA-you would be making "unsubstantiated medical claims". If you don't post any information about the health benefits of CS, you therefore aren't making ''medical claims", and they won't bother you. I've decided to leave the CS articles in place and encourage you to obtain your own generator. You can always obtain much more information about CS products by sending an E mail to the Editor at pitari@allvantage.com

November 20, 2001

The FTC is now trying to intimidate all web sites that make CS available with legal sanctions. We have removed all articles from this web site which indicates any therapeutic benefits from colloidal silver, ozone, or Eewahkee. They do make excellent paperweights however. You might want to consider getting some unusual paperweights. Interested parties should contact the Editor at pitari@allvantage.com if you desire more information.

Introduction & Overview

There are a number of alternative healing therapies that work so well and cost so little (compared to conventional treatment), that Organized Medicine, the Food & Drug Administration, and their overlords in the Pharmaceutical Industry (The Big Three) would rather the public not know about them. The reason is obvious: Alternative, non-toxic therapies represent a potential loss of billions of dollars to allopathic (drug) medicine and drug companies.

The Big Three have collectively engaged in a medical conspiracy for the better part of 70 years to influence legislative bodies on both the state and federal level to create regulations that promote the use of drug medicine while simultaneously creating restrictive, controlling mechanisms (licencing, government approval, etc) designed to limit and stifle the availability of non-drug, alternative modalities. The conspiracy to limit and eliminate competition from non-drug therapies began with the Flexner Report of 1910.

Health Canada crackdown kills family business

NorthRegentRx says it can prove agency's testing flawed, actions unjustified

A Manitoba entrepreneur is accusing the federal government of putting her family out of business — without justification — leaving them devastated by huge losses.

“For seven years, we’ve tried to get somebody to listen. There was a mistake made,” said Cheryl Swarath, of Gonor, Man., who is suing the federal government over the ordeal.

“I got screwed by my own government. And I know that my government doesn’t care.”

The Swarath family company, NorthRegentRx, was licensed to import and sell a natural, non-prescription alternative to Viagra called Libidus. At its peak in 2005, annual sales were well over a million dollars and growing fast.

Swarath said everything soured the following year, after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration cracked down on similar products sold online in that country.

She believes the sweep was sparked by complaints from the pharmaceutical industry, which didn’t like shady operators moving in on its market share.

“The [natural products] industry does need regulation. There are a lot of basement bandits out there,” said Swarath.

The FDA tested a product also marketed as "Libidus" that was sold online and found it was spiked with real Viagra, making it illegal to be sold as a natural supplement.

Soon afterward, Health Canada asked Swarath to contact all 700 of her retail customers and tell them to remove the product from their shelves.

Swarath said she bent over backward to comply, but the results were devastating.

“Once Health Canada accuses you of being the bad guy nobody wants to touch you. Stores are not interested in purchasing from you,” said Swarath.

Manitoba Conservative MP James Bezan then wrote to the prime minister on the company’s behalf, telling Stephen Harper, “there is irrefutable evidence errors were made.”

Bezan then wrote, “I believe a serious injustice has been brought upon NorthRegentRx by Health Canada. I am requesting your assistance to immediately address this long outstanding issue.”

Swarath said nothing came of that.

NorthRegentRx is now suing the government for $102 million, which Swarath said represents the family’s past and future losses.
That puts taxpayers potentially on the hook. Swarath said she simply wants a fair settlement.

“It’s extremely expensive to take the government to task. I’m taking on a giant. They have endless resources. I’ve got one lawyer they’ve got what, 50?”

Bezan told Go Public he still supports the Swarath family and suggested he hopes they win.
