RE: Bush

I really think it mIght. The case is being built, very carefully. It really depends on the 2006 results. Political will.

Even without a proper impeachment though, membership in a group that tried lends political legitimacy. You make think that doesn't count for much right now, but if you looked at the world you'd think differently.

RE: Bush

I agree with you man. Did you know that the US actually has plans to invade The Netherlands? If ever they were to trie one of our military for war crimes? That is scary, and just one of the many reasons I had to oppose that son of a b-itch. We have unleashed a monster upon the world, and half of us are celebrating joyously.

That's something I made, what I see when I see my own flag now.

RE: Bush

Invading the Netherlands can simply not be afforded by the US government. I'm aware of this law, I highly disagree with any law which legally allows any country to invade my country. More over, I believe in the International Court of Justice. But I'm not getting myself scared over something that just will not happen in the real world.

RE: Bush

I think it's a good idea as well. But just like Kyoto the US just practically spit on it. This is getting right into the meat of our problems with the US. Any country that assists the US is assisting the REAL Axis of Evil. It just demonstrates the arrogance of our foreign policy. We don't have a single ally that wasn't bullied or manipulated somehow. The old WWII Alliances are gone for good :(, oh well.. See you later I'm going off...

One good thing is that I don't have to scrape off my "impeach bush" sticker off my truck.

I think I felt worse when ray-gun was re-elected by a landslide. Even felt worse then than when nixon was re-elected. In fact, I believe the world ended in 1980 when ray-gun was originally elected. Everything else has been post-apocalyptic.

Funny you should mention Reagan. During this election, I was feeling utterly confident that Bush would never get in. No way would Americans do something that dumb... but there was a niggling thing that kept nipping at my happy thoughts. That niggling thing, of course, was the knowledge that people actually voted for Reagan.

I am beginning to think that reasonable, non-conservative, non-fundamentalists, really have no place in US society, and sometimes I think that has been the case for a very long time.

RE: Bush

Yeah, remember Reagan all too clearly. Some dirty backroom deals so that he got the credit for the hostages and suddenly he was president. It was bizarre to me.

That election was the beginning of a few things. It was the first time that the religious right had a major impact through talk radio and letter-writing campaigns. It was the first time the Cold War started heating up since the Cuban Missile Crisis. It signalled a return to secret wars in South America...something Carter had been backing away from. It ushered in the falsehood of neo-conservative economics. Something Canada and the US are still working with and something that hasn't worked yet.

RE: Bush

I was born during the Truman years (Aug. '50)--Saint-Laurent in Canada (always thought it an appropriate last name for one who was PM when the seaway opened). Anyway, I guess there's no fool like an old fool. Lol.
