Northern Ontario,
How did we know that Monica would testify? Because she has a history of not being able to keep her mouth closed.

And an 'accounting error' in the future will let the Lieberals shout to everyone that a budget surplus is coming.

Of course Ontario will go back into a deficit. The break-even was all smoke and mirrors from selling crown assets. One year only.

People keep forgetting about GDP growth.

If you don't invest then you get paltry growth and end up in a recession, like Harper did.

I hope the grandkids first move when thy get old enough to vote is cut all funding for seniors and charge them extra to help pay for all the goodies they took with no concern for the future.

Governments don't invest. They take money out of the system and squander it.

Which direction was Harper going to go in when the rest of the world was broke, trade was on futures, he had no choice but concentrate within our own economy to keep the country above water. Believe it or not we emerged as the best economy in the world until Iraq flooded the oil market to suppress the ISIS black market sales. Which in turn knocked out the oil industry across the world couple that with the drop in all resource markets and lack of manufacturing sales because of our strong dollar. The only thing that propped JT up was the hot housing bubble that started under Harper.

The recent federal budget had a 10 cent tax per pack of cigarettes.
No doubt, the upcoming Ontario budget will tack on another 15 cents minimum.
I was fearful of this about 6 months ago and purchased a years supply of smokes. I figure that spending 17 hundred bucks in advance is gonna save me about 10 bucks per month.

Deficit financing isn't uncommon, especially during a recessing economy and undertaking that action is not, in and of itself, bad.

That said, a very important consideration relates to how the funds are used. Infrastructure project funding is a great idea as it spurs employment and is generally also less expensive for labor, materials etc.

In terms of how Harper and Trudeau have allocated the funds, there is a drastic difference.
