Until just a couple years ago it has always hovered around 1 million people. It grew 20% in the last 8 years.

It's a far more urban populations now like most of rest of Canada. Small town Saskatchewan is dying fast. A Saskatchewan horizon without grain elevators sticking up t regular ontervals is a sad and lonely sight.

I experienced Newfoundland outports at close hand by sea, just as they were about to disapper, too and it was a similar phenomenon. It is ironic that the same gooey substance came to the rescue of both places.
