POLICE are hunting a gang of four men in dark clothing who stormed a house party and blasted a Black Lives Matter activist in the head.
Sasha Johnson, 27, was left fighting for life after being shot at the bash in Peckham, South East London, on Sunday morning.
Police confirmed a group of "four black males dressed in dark coloured clothing" opened fire in the garden at around 3am before fleeing.
They also said they don't believe the shooting was "targeted" and there is nothing to suggest she received "death threats" before the attack.
Commander Alison Heydari said: "We are aware of Sasha’s involvement in the Black Lives Matter movement in the UK and I understand the concern this will cause to some communities – however I wish to stress that at this time there is nothing to suggest Sasha was the victim of a targeted attack.
"We are also not aware of any reports of threats made against her prior to this incident.
"I want to take this opportunity to reassure you that we are doing everything possible to identify those responsible and to bring them to justice."
But The Taking the Initiative Party (TTIP) claim Sasha, who was a founder, was gunned down after receiving" numerous death threats as a result of her activism".
And they have slammed cops over the investigation - questioning how they can know it wasn't an intended hit if they haven't spoken to the mum-of-two.
The party also says they have received a barrage of abuse as Sasha - the self-styled 'Black Panther of Oxford' - remains in hospital.
