I've tried through calling, emailing, online chat and going to the Bell Store to find out what the programming I have for my satellite. I cannot acquire a list of available channels that I can reveiw. The only sheet to download from the site is a PDF (I couldn't possibly read with a microscope) and it doesn't tell me what the "Ultimate 12" is that I've been paying for 6 years without question. I pay in full for two receivers (no pirating going on here) and when channels appear and disappear I can't get any answers or basic customer service. What's the trick? I've already taken my internet to another provider, is it time to move the satellite too? Any advice would be apprecaited.

The package you subscribe to is grandfathered and no longer offered. Probably the reason they are having problems describing it to you.

If I recall correctly, the Ultimate 12 is locals (cbc, ctv, citytv etc) + 12 theme packs (sports, lifestyle, learning etc)

What do you mean by the channels disappearing? Do they not show up in the guide?

Northern Ontario,
I found that when I lose certain channels, it's as if I've had the receiver on for too long.....so I just unplug it, wait a while , plug it back in and the channel comes back..(like a reboot) don't know if that would help you...

Yeah, that can help. Usually if I lose channels, it's due to the receiver being inactive for a while. In that case, you can login to bell.ca and send a hit from the web page, which will update the card. In other cases, I usually just do a front panel reset or a check switch.

Yep...the other day I change channel and I suddenly get a message that my card is no good, So I pull the plug, pull the card out, put it back in, plug it in and voila:lol:

Ya, there isn't. I work for expressvu so I fairly well versed in this sort of thing.
I assume the (still) best way to add the 2nd receiver is to run a 2nd line all the way from the dish. putting more that one on one line only transmits the same program to both boxes.

Yeah, second line from the dish or install a 1(input) x2(output) switch or you can get into 4x4 switches as well. Splitting a line can cause the polarity to get buggered, meaning one box would get even channels and the other get odd.

Best way to get help is to leave Bell completely! Bell is an idiotic company that I never want to be with as a customers! You talk about customers stealing from bell. Have you ever heard how Bell scams and frauds people? Stay the hell away from Bell! Bell is bad taste to anyone's mouth!

I know Bell are pretty fussy about ownership of receivers.
Make sure you contact them about buying your friends receiver,
so they can advise you just how to do it, so they don't
get suspicious, and I think there is so much fraud, they
want to make sure the transfer of receivers is done on
the up and up.

Just call their tech support number, and they will inform
you of all the parts etc you need.

I have had bell express Vu for years, and have had nothing
but great satisfaction with them, they are so helpfull if
anything goes wrong with picture, and they have repair
advice online too, or right on the remote.

I have never been shafted or cheated by them, they have
changed my programming anytime I have requested it, with
lots of input and help from them.

I have had Bell ExpressVu for years, great service, I can change my channelling any time,
with the help of their service providers, and I can set up my packages to fit into the
amount I am willing to pay.

No problems at all, and I have never enjoyed such great TV coverage, including many
wonderful HD channels, so I have nothing but praise for this company.

BELL EXPRESSVU is about the worst company in Canada. Over bill, crappy channels, CBC in 5 different time zones, WoOt!.

I have DirecTV and live by it.

How do they over-charge when compared to Rogers, Shaw etc?
How do you define crappy channels? ExpressVu has hundreds of Channels.
ExpressVu is forced to carry the CBC in all times zones due to CRTC regulation.

Considering one cannot legally subscribe to DirecTV in Canada, I assume you are pulling some fraud in relation to your mailing address?

Northern Ontario,
I had Direct TV for a couple of years until last year when I couldn't receive it anymore:lol:

I didn't find it better than Express Vu....only different and for me in Northern Ontario, I needed a bigger Dish to pick up the sinal from 110 west...

BTW I got a used Multi Satellite receiver for sale.......cheap.........

They over charge because I get better programming, more channels for much cheaper in DirecTV. They are a rip off, and BELL uses DirecTV satellites.

I define crappy channels when you get the same dam channel but just different time zones. Has anyone ever heard of a PVR or TIVO here.

CRTC is run by the big telecommunication companies in Canada.

Lastly, duel citizenship. Live in Canada, have a US address. I have had DirecTV since 1994 and don't plan on giving it up any time soon. HD/3D receiver.. love the service.

Strange my bell dish is aimed at Nimiq 1 91* West & Nimiq 2 82* West and when I had Direct TV my second dish was aimed at 110* West & 119* West...not the same satellites or direction.....But they did move a couple of old direct tv satellites behind Nimiq I and 2 in '04 and '07 (I think) to help support the extra channels that Bell was broadcasting.....which is understandable since they both use the same kind of transponders with the same encoding system ..."Nagra 3"

I just heard that the code has been cracked.....my old receiver may not be for sale after all....if just a code is needed and no new hardware:lol:;-)

Bell uses a former, single DirecTV satellite, which is a temporary measure while a replacement is being built.

The channels you get depends on what you are willing to pay, you sir, sound like a cheapskate.

Bell has a 5100, 5800, 5900, 5200, 9200, 9242 & 9241 which are all PVR's

You can get Tivo in Canada if you want to pay extra for it.

You're still breaking your end user agreement by using your US service in Canada, not that I care but ya.

What exactly is a 3D receiver? Your receiver feeds a signal to your TV, it doesn't care what the content is as long as it has the capabilities to decode.
