Sorry to disagree. But in addition to playing the sport I coached it for 20 years and was also a free lance sports reporter. I know the sport very well and know that it can be played in less than 2 hours just as we did in the old days.
..
i'm sure you are right about the length of a game, i did not imply otherwise.
we also played and coached the sport of fastball for years, and always followed baseball, didn't do any
freelance reporting, wasn't interested in that side of sports.
there are ways they can shorten the games if they want to, i don't really care, i can watch and do
otherthings, leave the game and come back, or sit and watch a full game if i'm so inclined.
i will never leave the sport i love, whatever it might be because of things 'connected' to the sport,
as long as it is played at the level i expect for these great athletes, i will always watch.
why would i leave something i love to do, the actual game and/or players would have to play at a
level i do not approve of, and that will not happen, they are so talented and love to play the
game, so i will keep on enjoying their expertise.
i watched the jays all season, when they were hot and when they were not, as they still played as
best they could, but sometimes things just don't go right, and sometimes the other teams are hot,
but doesn't matter, the game is still the game, great plays are made by players on both teams, and
i appreciate that.
far too much emphasis is placed on the outcome of games, but for me it is the process, not the outcome
that comes first for me.
