This is like the stance that France has taken; Israel has the right to defend itself but shouldn't use it's military. You want to punish Israel for having a strong, effective military. How can the region ever see peace as long as Hezbollah is able to act with impunity. The UN is ineffective as is the Lebanese military. I guess Israel should respond to rocket attacks by dying quietly. That way the world wouldn't have to be bothered with coming to terms with a half-century of failed cease-fires and peace deals.

Civilian Targets: You know it has already been answered about a dozen times, you just ignore the answer(but it is there again below) and when people ask you a question, you never answer and just endlessy repeat the same already answered questions. You score F on debating 101.

As to which city is in better shape. You mistaking effectiveness for intent.

Hezbollahs clear intent is aimed at causing civilian casualities, ALL of their rockets are aimed at population centers, the relative lack of damage is because Hezbollah just isn't very effective.

The Israelis by contrast are aimed at infrastructure targets and buildings that house missiles (which are essentially empty at this point). And by further contrast the Israelis are very effective, so the damage is much greater.

I now see why you continual post other peoples ideas, your own seem to lack logical consistency.

If Hezbullah was concerned for civilians on their side of the border why would the set up shop in the middle of a suburban neighbourhood, why would they not set up away from civilians? You're being succesfully manipulated by terrorists. I don't deny your right to question Israel's actions but you must balance that by questioning Hezbullah's also.

I'd like to add that the UN's head of Humanitarian Relief, who yesterday slammed Israel's attack as "disproportionate", today slammed Hezbollah. He accused Hezbollah (listen Gopher) of dispersing their military assets amongst the civilian population, which made them responsible, in Egeland's opinion, for "hundreds" of civilian deaths.

He is on site.

It was indeed heartening last year when Syria had to withdraw from Lebanon. What happened. Instead of taking control of their land Lebanon allowed Hizbollah (Iran's fifth column in Lebanon) to act with impunity in the south of the country.
