It's all well and good but I see nothing written there about procuring doctors for the 25% of the population who don't have a family doctor. "Charity begins at home".
Damn right! No Syrian refugee should receive any kind of medical attention until every last Canadian has a family doctor.

Just like no Syrian refugee should be housed until every last Canadian has a home (with broadband).

If you took the f**king time to read it properly you would quickly realize that is NOT what I said!

Yes you can. Just depends on what the medication is and how you are reacting to it. For some meds you can get an automatic renewal. Of course the doc does make more loot by having you come in than he does Emailing you a prescription.

You are quite correct, I neglected to point that out. But I believe that is just for stable conditions- (mine like blood pressure and blood thinner are changing all the time) but in any case sooner or later you have to get another appointment for a renewal.

What's a family doctor? My family had one until I was like 8 cause the doctor left town. Ever since then I've been my own doctor making sure I'm knowledgeable enough about my body to keep it functional.

Good for you Johnny and I hope that works for you for a long time. :)

And I'll continue to do it to people who put words in my mouth so stick it where the sun don't shine!

Yeah, sure thing buddy. So should I skip paying rent that month or not bother with food for 3 people for that month? Oh wait, it'd be both and I'd still be short.

That particular poster you responded to is renowned for engaging his mouth before what he has for a brain is fully engaged! :)

For Christ sake we have a world wide humanitarian crisis and like it or not
we have people coming here and they are going to become citizens, Not
second class citizens, no citizens.
Of course we are going to provide medical attention, we do that for citizens.
hell in this country we support humanitarian efforts elsewhere where they
provide health services so why not here.
Besides if we had a problem and something spread to the general population
and we didn't treat it until later the same howling would go up that it wasn't
treated sooner We have to be adults and quit with the old warn out excuses
to not let this happen.
These days there seems to be the mind set that there is a problem for every
solution
Did you open up any of your out buildings to these refugees or are you one of those who wants Canada to do something , anything but not in my back yard ?

From what I understand in British Columbia, opening up out buildings for human habitation may not be an option. Even to occupy a brand new house built specifically for human occupancy, "red tape" requires you to get an occupancy permit. It may be slightly more difficult to acquire one for a shed.

Actually at one time in Canada the Shriners were sympathetic to that sort of thing and in all likelihood possibly still are.

I thought of them but I think they only do stuff for kids under 18. Our son is 25. I could give them a shout though, the worst they can do is say no.
It just sickens the f*ck out of me that I have to go rattling a bunch of cages to get this taken care of while a bunch of imported f*cking foreigners are getting extended health care that no Canadian gets!

And all this while the worse than worthless Libtards in Ontario crank up the funding for gender reassignment surgeries because hey, looking like you feel is far more important than eyesight, or avoiding brain damage or potentially lethal infections.

I do too-saw him yesterday in fact- but when he's not available I just use the drop in clinic and am out in a few minutes.

My opinion only but I think walk in clinics are invaluable and excellent for emergencies or for one time treatment for a temporary condition. I feel that for an on going condition, where there is a possibility of a multitude of treatments you want a family doctor so that as treatment becomes necessary it is consistent. For instance- high blood pressure, there's a multitude of methods and pills to treat it but sometimes it takes several weeks or even month to pin down the best treatment for it and generally speaking you want ONE doctor dealing with it.

I wish you well but I really wish you would soften your opinion of "imported f*cking foreigners. They have feelings too, the laugh, cry, hurt and bleed and I would be ashamed to be Canadian if they didn't at least receive adequate treatment for medical conditions. Our lives up till now have been much easier than their's.

Exactly. They fill a role between doctor and emerg whereby there are some things you probably shouldn't wait to see your family doctor for, yet they aren't really emergencies either.

I'm ashamed when we won't provide adequate treatment for our own citizens but we'll dig even deeper in debt to provide health care to non-citizens over and above the coverage that citizens have from their provincial health care plans.
Canadians deserve at LEAST the same level of health care as the refugees, not less.

Haha! That poster has a brain? I thought the only functioning body part "that poster" has is a stinky hole where the mouth should be!
