Juan, it has been sold out every night for over a month now. You have to buy your tickets early - be there at least an hour before. I bought tickets for my grandson to go see it as part of his birthday gift. His Dad took him to Galaxy a half hour early last Thursday. They said there didn't seem to be too many people around so they thought they could get in easy. Then they saw the sign reading "sold out". Have been told it's absolutely great but only if you see it in 3D. I hear everyone at work raving about it. They'll have to try again on Friday or Saturday. The worst nights of the week but school calls so they can't be out too late on a week night. I believe it said it was 2 hours and 26 min. long.

I just assumed that we could get in on a weeknight. It looked hopeless on the weekend. I think the movie times were something like four and eight. We would probably be going to the Galaxy. An hour ahead....I wonder if you can buy tickets for the next day?

FYI, this movie is the highest grossing movie in HISTORY.... second is Titanic... Both are directed by James Cameron.

So if you are wondering if this is a good movie... just think about those two facts.

BTW, I saw it 2 times and I thought it was good.

I'd like to see it just for the FX. I don't see things like this for a complicated and deep story line and whoever thinks I should be grownup and only see movies for said deep complicated story line can KMB :booty:because I thought the main idea was ENTERTAINMENT :D

High box office profits doesn't automatically = a good movie.

Put it this way Juan, this movie is as emptyTransformers 2 without the explosions and Megan Fox's tits.

A lot of people liked Transformers 2 and there is nothing wrong with that. If people want to enjoy a movie that is full of action and not much else, does it really matter in the grand scheme of things?;-)

Not at all, but dont go into this expecting some great story line to go along with the action. Ala Aliens, Terminator or less so Titanic. Its very predictable, yet admittedly eye pleasing.

Transformers 2 was horrible also in my opinion.... Optimus Prime isnt supposed to be that strong, the Autobots are supposed to use team work to beat the decepticons... And what was with all those name less decepticons!!!! the only thinkg i liked about that movie was what they did with soundwave, making him a satellite which is pretty cool... the first transformers was better, and i liked that movie

I agree. The first transformers stuck to 1 transformers "series" (for lack of a better word) and had a good plot + some decent acting. The second one was a mix mash of all the different transformers with big explosions and a really annoying cast, particularly the cry baby new guy.

The movie Avatar represents a quantum leap in special effects and movie technology. James Cameron tried to show off that technology and from all reports, he did a pretty good job.
The movie has broken revenue records from the first weekend it was shown.

You'll need the special TV and player then.

Yeah. I was wondering how the basta-ds were going to get more money out of me since I just updated everything. I don't have a Blu-ray player and I don't have a Blu-ray compatible TV........sh-t! ;-)

No... highest grossing movie in HISTORY = a good movie. There is a difference.

It's been a long time since I went to the movie theater and saw a movie and at the end there was a standing ovation with applause and cheering. The last time was Star Trek and Star Wars - but I expected that because they already have a cult following.

It's going to be a couple of years before 3D TV will become mainstream. So don't worry about what you just bought. There aren't many movies out there that are in 3D, unless you like to watch the animated 3d movies all the time. Then there is the fact that you have to wear glasses, people don't like doing that at home.

the only way 3D tv will take off is if they broadcast the super bowl and the stanley cup in 3d.

oh... and if the porn industry starts making movies in 3D too... that would make a huge difference.... pun intended

James Cameron says he will re-issue Avatar on Blu-ray with 3D in six months to a year. Now, I assume you would still need glasses but I don't know.
