As is often the case, Haggis is right
This is no way to spend a night

When all is said and done, blame my mother
She wants me to take after my strange dressing brother

"Well you see that's just what happens,"
Mother always said,
"By making assumptions
Misconceptions are fed."

After all shes given and done for you
To reduce her words to a clinical few

"Love your brother", she always stated
Now you're willing to abandon that which was fated?

My heart is cold, heavy and sinking
And you wonder why I started drinking

Mother has some shocking news
Depending on your point of views
Your brother whom you love so dear
Is not quite what you hope and fear

A brother is strong, this is true
A brother is true, a sister is too
So equipped with an appendage - or no -
Buddy boy, you can still call me bro

My fears are allayed, Im glad to say
The thought of losing you ruined my day

No news can pointedly shock me anymore
I've been there, done that and more,

Im reassured to hear the appendage is real
I'd hate to think of an operation for which you'd have to beg, borrow and steal.

I'm on the floor laughing
Tears rolling down my face
Where IS that blasted appendage
So easy to misplace

Maybe it was never there
Have you ever thought of that?
A sister, perhaps a tomboy?
Either way, Mum's favourite brat!

I gotta get outa here also...my ride wants to make haste and feels this is a waste...but I gave her some toast so I could once more post.

There was once a blasted lady of Rome,
Who past in an old catacomb.
When the appendage came to prey,
She'd now them at bay
With an offer of researchok and haggis in her home.

Are you two sure you were not part of the monty python troupe
This is definately goodbye...

I won't slap you, but I am curious as to why a younger sister? Do you feel that in my posts you've come to know me as well as you would a sibling? I find that interesting...

I feel an intuitive need to define that to which I relate. I'm an instinctive scientist. If you are uncomfortable with that, I will avert my gaze.

Haggis, dear Haggis, my partner in crime
Together we work, in a way so sublime

Strong brother or sweet sister, appendage or not
Poetry we write, to defend ourselves from the daily onslaught

Indeed you are moms brat, that is without doubt
But I'm the shmuck that started this rhyming so devout

Ever creative, ever witty, when it will end I do not care
If you insist on engaging me, might I suggest prayer?

Monty meant well
And that was swell

But be sure that with Haggis and I
You'll never be left high and dry

Research, we are surely amazing
Posting like crazy and never fazing

We drive others nuts and probably mom
We don't care a bit 'cause we're totally from...

Another planet, one strange and sublime
Where posters sprout proses that sometimes rhyme

Oh joy, Oh joy, my brother has returned
I thought he had gone, the bridge he burned

The comfort I feel now knows no bounds
I'll ask mother to call back the hounds

Your safely ensconced in that comfortable chair
Furiously composing your prose with such flair

How shall I keep up with so prolific a brother
Wait I know-- I'll just complain to mother!

Okay, bro, just stop right now
My coffee in keyboard, monitor and brow

How do you manage to catch me each time
With a mouthful of coffee while I read your rhyme?

Mother will be mad, you must realize that
When I tell her again that you're such a brat

And clueless to boot, I really might add
Your brother sans appendage? really too sad!

You must recognize that I'm your sis
A person who doesn't stand to piss

Sitting or standing you'll always be my bro
I'll stand up for you however you go

Swing to the right, swing to the left, swing to the middle
Its no ones business how you piddle

If its coffee you spill and dribble all over
remember, t'is better to spill, than suffer hangover

Coffee? I would have guessed at some strong tea that didn't come from China...and maybe some brownies to go along with it.

Keep up the good work.

Would you like a brownie?
To take away any frownie?

Do join us in a cuppa
Of tea from Acidhead Tuppa

Oh brother dearest
You write the clearest

I bow low to your verse
With sibling envy I curse

Ever clever witty bitties
Oh my, good grief, what rhymes with bitties??
