There is a fence in the San Diego, California area. Illegals just climb over it, or tunnel under it.
Is the fence electrified? And was it erected by federal government, or was it a case of California pulling an Arizona? There are ways to ensure that illegals don't cross the fence. As i said, there is a way, but there isn't a will.
Your version of the Arizona flag is sick. They are not at all repressive, they are reacting to their citizens being murdered because the Federal government refuses to do anything to close that border.
Then the proper response would be to pressure the federal government, to elect representatives who will do something to curb illegal immigration, rather than pass a law which will target the Hispanics, both legal and illegal.
Tell me, what would you do if some 1 million illegals were pouring across the border of your province every year? If they included Iraqui's, Afghani's, Iranians, and others from countries that despised your country? If they were carrying illegal drugs like heroin, PCP, etc.? If they had heavy weapons like 30 caliber machine guns, sub-machine guns, etc.?
You have all the answers, so you solve this problem.
I have already described how federal government could solve the problem. Indeed, if Canada has a similar problem of illegals coming across Canada/US border, we definitely will do something about it, probably along the lines of an electrified fence.
But in USA it is both forces of the left and the right which are opposed to tackling the problem. The left, because it sympathizes with Hispanics, that is a loyal voter cosntituency. The right, because big business wants illegal immigration to continue.
You without a doubt either like playing the fool, or playing us by taking these ridiculous positions on things. You are so fixated with racism of one sort or another that you must be one yourself. We know you are an academia snob because of the way you seem to know everything and even when confronted with facts still deny them. The U.S. is no where near the racist country you portray us as. You also do not know anything about the U.S. or American people, you may read a lot but by your reply's it is not helping you much, only further isolating you from the reality. The shame is that your opinion does not really mean to much anymore..
USA is not a racist country, ironsides, but parts of USA are definitely racist. Have you forgotten your own history of civil rights struggle in the Bible Belt? When they tried to desegregate University of Alabama, the Alabama governor himself stood at the gates of the university to prevent black students from entering.
They had to send in the troops to the South to enforce civil rights laws. The legacy of the old ways still lingers in the South.
Besides, Arizona has recent history of racism, when they refused to recognize MLK birthday as a holiday (by then it was the only state in the country to refuse to do so).
So considering the history of the South in general and history of Arizona in particular, it is my considered opinion that the law is xenophobic and racist.
