Trouble with the whole scenario is that psychopathic personalities rarely "love" anyone.
She may have become obsessed with the idea of getting the attention of the new male....capturing if you will..... but love?

When I was a young lad I had a severe crush on a young lady who lived up the street from our house.
One day a kid was hit by a car in front of her house and she came running out with just baby doll pj's on to see if she could help.
The very next day, right in front of her house, I pushed my sister in front of a car.......................... 8O
