Canadians on the whole are quite friendly. I have been to every province, multiple times, since 1946, and have found very few that were not friendly.
The only one that really comes to mind was my grandfathers next door neighbor in Brentwood Bay, BC. He hated everyone and just about everything. He used to cuss at us for playing outside in the afternoon.
I have traveled all over Canada, working on my family genealogy, and have met people from all walks of life. I have found that if you treat people nicely, they respond in the same way. I have had Canadians go out of their way to lead me to some scenic spot, lead me to a better hotel/motel or restaurant, etc.
Of course my wife is the type that could get a stone wall to talk to her, so that could have something to do with it <grin>.
