He attracts people who use the term "LIE-beral"

That alone disqualifies him from serious consideration.
Look on the bright side, he ain't smart enough to come up with "LIE-barrel." Though if he was, he'd probably be chuckling and snorting (and drooling) all day.

Actually- Steyn is South African originally and came to Canada long ago. At this point he is something of an international celebrity due to his highly skilled and articulate verbal skewering of LIE-beral hypocrites!

Actually, Steyn was born in Toronto and raised in Great Britain.

Of course you do. You are the same people who didn't think leaded gas was bad and why get rid of it. Pollution control on cars? Also a waste of time. If it was up to you there wouldn't be any.

Been dealing with you my whole life. That's why you are so easy to ignore.

Anyone that denies climate change is a complete idiot.

the climate has been changing for the last 100 or so years due to man made activity.

The White House just released an extensive review that said so - which only confirms the findings of every other scientific study ever done.

Some thoughts on ANTIFA thugs:

Here is an article condemning LIE-beral friendly media for offering undeserved defense of Antifa thugs. With some comments of my own in brackets):

Undeserved praise for Antifa’s thugs

BY CANDICE MALCOLM.
FIRST POSTED: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2017 06:14 PM EDT | UPDATED: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2017 06:19 PM EDT

The tables have turned for a group of masked anarchists who claim to be protecting our society from the threat of a fascist takeover.

They call themselves “Antifa” — short for anti-fascists — and they’ve been showing up at rallies and forming counter-protests to stop right-wing groups across North America.

Far from vigilante heroes, however, Antifa has been exposed as a mob of violent and radical leftists who attack anyone who gets in their way.

Following the violence in Charlottesville, VA, Antifa was praised and celebrated in the mainstream media and by politicians across the political spectrum.

(There was plenty of blame to go around in that mess! Right wing kooks and left wing swine! Trump was right to condemn them ALL!)

High profile Republicans like Mitt Romney, John McCain and Marco Rubio absolved Antifa of any wrongdoing. McCain claimed they were simply “Americans standing up to defy hate and bigotry.”

Hillary Clinton’s campaign spokesman attempted to legitimize Antifa, comparing these masked radicals to Allied soldiers who fought against the Nazis during WWII.

Rubio went further, validating Antifa’s violent tactics when it came to combatting white supremacists.

In Canada, several journalists jumped on the Antifa bandwagon.

Former Sun columnist Warren Kinsella said, “the only ones who should oppose Antifa are fascists” and another former Sun columnist, Michael Coren, said that “condemning Antifa is wrong.”

There’s a problem, however, for those who defend this group. Anfita’s central belief is that violence is the only way to stop fascism.

(Sadly there is a second problem- that Antifa thinks anybody who condemns LIE-beral policy is ALSO fascist! Antifa sees nothing wrong with LIE-beral Islamophobia propaganda that is far more useful to LIE-berals as a way to silence critics of their many failed policies than it is as a definition of attitude to Muslims! Islamphobia is a smoke screen!)

They claim that neo-Nazis and white supremacists use hate speech that leads to violence, and therefore the use of force is necessary to stop the spread of fascism.

Accordingly, they cover their faces with black masks so they can be violent and commit crimes with impunity.

(Many LIE-berals consider that being opposed to masses of illegals wandering across the Cdn border is a sign of white supremacist thought- in spite of legitimate concern by ordinary people regarding how these often totally unskilled illegals will survive in Canada without massive govt aid which we canot afford to supply! LIE-berals also ignore the very real threat of Muslim terror cells sneaking in with the other illegals!)

Since the Charlottesville clash, Antifa thugs have engaged in violence and vandalism in Boston, Quebec City and this past weekend in Berkeley, Calif.

In Quebec, a political group called Le Meute held a rally to protest illegal immigration and the government’s mishandling of the crisis along the border.

Quebec City police said Le Meute’s rally was “peaceful and orderly,” but the same cannot be said about the violent mob that showed up to oppose them.

The counter-protest digressed into a riot, and Antifa thugs began setting fires, vandalizing private property and pelting police officers with smoke bombs, fireworks and glass bottles.

One man, who was carrying a Quebec flag, was brutally assaulted with bricks.

Another man, a journalist covering the protests for Global News, was thrown down a flight of stairs and his cameraman’s camera was smashed.

An anonymous letter posted later on an anarchist website defended the use of violence against police and journalists.

(So much for any logical debate on LIE-beral policy!)

Likewise, the violent riot last weekend in Berkeley was unprovoked.

Antifa thugs attacked peaceful demonstrators and any bystanders who got in their way. Antifa members popularized the idea it was okay to “punch a Nazi”.

(And of course it will be Antifa who defines “Nazi”! With heavy emphasis on labelling anybody who disagrees with them as Nazi!)

But this is a slippery slope. When there were no Nazis to be found, Antifa began punching conservatives, police officers, journalists and anyone else who questioned their militant tactics.

As the Sun’s Lorrie Goldstein pointed out, “the ‘Antifa’ movement has always had at its core a group of masked violent thugs who delight in assaulting innocent people and destroying property.”

(These are the kind of people who agree with former prime minister Pierre Trudope- the father of Our idiot Boy Justin- papa Pierre wrote a great many things denouncing democracy and what he called “Cdn Imperialism” Pierre is on written record telling us that the British war against Nazi Germany was British Imperialism and Pierre went on to praise Chinese Communist Chairman Mao for “his genius in rushing 30 million Chinese to the gallows” to cement control of China. The Trudope LIE-berals are Not people to turn to in defense of democracy or common sense!)

There is no room for political violence in our free society.

We should work out our differences through speech, reasoned debate and peaceful demonstrations — not brute force.

(But how sad that neither Antifa nor LIE-berals want public debate or public opinion either on issues related to govt debt, immigration control and Muslim terror! Its why LIE-berals are moving ahead to make their M 103 Islamophobia motion into law- without bothering to EXPLAIN what Islamophobia means to them- other than letting it be vaguely seen as a generalized opposition to LIE-beral thought!)

Just as conservatives universally condemned the alt-right after Charlottesville, it’s now the left’s turn to condemn and disavow the violent anarchists in Antifa.

(But LIE-berals will NOT do such a thing as it will cost them votes and make it harder for them to cling to power at any price!)

The science is indisputable,

Only a lunatic fringe is denying climate change- its just the LIES that LIE-berals feed us pretending to do something about it that are the problem! Consider:

Just how stupid are LIE-berals and their NDP cousins? Lorry Goldstein gives us a clue-and its too bad Alberta premier Rachel Notley is still missing HER clues! I have always said the NDP members are simply people who lack the low guile and cunning needed to be `proper` LIE-berals and this story proves me right! Here is the Goldstein column along with some comments of my own in brackets):

Alberta sues itself over carbon pricing. By Lorrie Goldstein, Toronto Sun. First posted: Wednesday, July 27, 2016 06:30 PM EDT | Updated: Wednesday, July 27, 2016 06:35 PM EDT

How are Canadian governments going to fix the climate if they can’t even run their carbon pricing policies competently?

The latest fiasco comes from Alberta, where Premier Rachel Notley’s NDP government has asked the courts to strike down an Alberta government regulation it says could cost the public $2 billion. The problem is, the NDP’s own actions led to this fiasco.

Alberta energy companies are bailing out of money-losing contracts for buying coal-fired electricity called power purchase agreements (PPA), after the NDP government increased the carbon levy on coal in January, 2016.

The companies are allowed to get out of the contracts -- handing the financial losses to the public -- if government actions make them “more unprofitable”, which is what the carbon levy did.

Deputy Premier Sarah Hoffman said the NDP government wasn’t aware of this regulation when it introduced its carbon levy and accused the previous Progressive Conservative government of secretly putting it into place 16 years ago.

(I say that most politicians lack the grey matter to recall what they had for breakfast yesterday morning-or where they had it either-so expecting them to remember something that occurred decades ago is not possible. But its indicative of NDP idiocy that instead of repealing THEIR new and obviously ill conceived law-they simply want the original to be killed off! Thus DEMANDING that UN-ELECTED CDN judges be used to ERASE legal contracts signed in good faith years or even decades ago! What manner of precedent does this send when govt destroys legal contracts for the sake of flawed ideology?)

She called it the “Enron” clause, arguing it was agreed to by the then PC government at the request of U.S. energy giant Enron, which later collapsed because of massive fraud.

One of the companies using the provincial regulation to get out of its PPA is Enmax, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the city of Calgary, where the NDP government’s lawsuit has infuriated Mayor Naheed Nenshi.

Nenshi describes it as “outrageous” adding, “we have the spectacle of the provincial government suing itself because apparently it didn’t know its own policies that have been in place for 15, 16, years and that Enmax has been abiding by.”

(From DIRECT OBSERVATION I can say that when the money runs out, people go CRAZY-and Alberta is now broke-AND NUTS!)

Alberta Interim PC Leader Ric McIver accused the NDP of gross incompetence. He said the regulation the NDP is pleading ignorance of “has been available publicly through the Queen’s Printer for 15 or 16 years. So if the government didn’t know what the regulations were and what the contracts were before they changed them, they are completely negligent and incompetent.”

Indeed, even if the regulation wasn’t approved by the normal process 16 years ago, how could Notley’s government, elected in May 2015, have missed it when doing its due diligence research on the impacts of its carbon levy? Did it not ask the Alberta civil service for all relevant provincial regulations that could impact the carbon levy?

(What it comes down to is that Cdn law is becoming so complex that its easy to miss key pieces-and this OUGHT TO BE FOOD FOR THOUGHT-to the clown college of politicians who think they can ram through Carbon crap and trade laws WITHOUT BADLY messing up our economy! The pieces of the puzzle are many-and poorly marked- but LIE-berals and their NDP pals play on, convinced their POSE of saintly good will and sweet ideology will protect them from legal and fiscal stupidity! AS well as hiding their GROSS GREED for more gravy to BUY HOG votes with-and this is the driving force behind all their Carbon CRAP action!)

Anything’s possible in a lawsuit, of course, but for the province to ask the courts to retroactively strike down a provincial regulation governing legal contracts signed 16 years ago sounds like a hard case to win.

It also sounds as if Notley’s government is trying to divert attention from a $2 billion mistake on its part that may have to be paid for by all Albertans.

Then again, so much of what the provinces are doing on carbon pricing makes no sense.

Ontario is giving away free carbon credits -- essentially free public money -- to major industrial emitters for at least the first four years of its looming cap-and-trade program, one of the main factors that undermined cap-and-trade in Europe, starting 11 years ago.

(But of course small Ontari-owe businesses who are not so LIE-beral friendly still MUST BUY carbon credits!)

Neither the federal government nor any province -- not even BC which comes closest -- is introducing 100% revenue neutral carbon pricing programs, the most effective way of lowering emissions, as opposed to merely grabbing more money from the public.

(LIE-beral carbon crap and trade is turning our electrical system into a GIANT LIE-beral slush fund to satisfy their greed!)

Indeed, when Notley introduced her carbon tax, taking effect in 2017, it was clear from her statements she didn’t understand what “revenue neutral” means.

(Its no wonder Notley and her ilk draw a blank when the phrase `revenue neutral` is used in their presence-ALL the parties of the Cdn left SCORN revenue neutral fiscal options as employing revenue neutral policy is the best way to throw Lefties back into the opposition party obscurity they have TEMPORARILY been lifted out of! Only those loonie leftists with the resources to fuel the entitlements of civil service Hogs and their GROSS gravy train will have any hope of retaining the support of the Hogs!)

(The UGLY truth is that loonie leftists are going to RUIN us all with this carbon crap and trade garbage unless we call a HALT to it! NOW!)

Ontario coughs up $28M to wind power company.

THE CANADIAN PRESS. First posted: Thursday, April 13, 2017 03:06 PM EDT | Updated: Thursday, April 13, 2017 03:12 PM EDT

The Ontario government says it has paid a $28-million award that a NAFTA tribunal ruled was owed to a wind power company over a provincial offshore wind moratorium.

Windstream Energy had a 300-megawatt project planned in eastern Ontario when the provincial government abruptly enacted the moratorium in February 2011.

The company took its complaint to a NAFTA tribunal that partially ruled in Windstream’s favour, awarding it $25 million in damages for unfair and inequitable treatment as well as $3 million in legal fees.

Payment was due within 30 days of the Sept. 30 ruling and Windstream went to court in February to ask it to enforce the award. Windstream was also seeking the interest it was awarded — 2.7 per cent, compounded annually, from Nov. 1, 2016 until the date of payment.

A spokesman for Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault says the award was paid with about $95,000 in interest.

(All this is the end result of that abrupt decision by LIE-berals that their mouldy
green energy deal were simply TOO COSTLY! LIE-berals paid too much to begin with and then guaranteed to buy any and all green energy regardless of our needs. This has led to LIE-berals PAYING other jurisdictions in United States to take our excess power off our hands sinbce idiot LIE-berals have created a system where LIE-beral pals are getting rich selling us that mouldy green regardless of how much we need!)

(That Yankee Windstream gang believed the LIE-beral hype about Ontari-owe going green and signed on with Wynne-bag LIE-berals to set up their project- which did not get finished before LIE-berals panicked over plummeting polls and abruptly cancelled the deal and left Windstream in the lurch with a USELESS half completed project! LIE-berals can blame NAFTA if they want but they are deluding us- AND themselves! You cannot encourage business to accept a deal and then yank the rug out from under without legal repercussions!)

(So this LOST lawsuit is just STUPID business as usual for LIE-berals!)
