Huh, who knew Alberta was so racist. I was born here and have lived most of my life here and it's no worse here than anywhere else that I've lived in Canada. But, of course, bashing Alberta is considered the thing to do; not unlike Jane Fonda coming in from elsewhere to tell us how bad we are, now the Eastern press is doing the same thing - guess it must make people feel good to be able to do that.

What Notley is doing should be an example that every premier in every province should be doing to encourage integration and acceptance in our communities - nothing more and nothing less.

A unit on discrimination and racism used to be a major part of the Grade 10 Social Studies curriculum. I'm not sure if it still is, but it should be.

Interseting point. WOuld honour killings not constitute hate crimes? Or More probably terrorism?

That's an interesting point too. Those killers were just charged with murder like any other murderers but you can bet that if a white, nonn-Muslim person had done those killings it would have been all over the news as a 'hate' crime.

Locutus was just bored that day.

And calling it as such would be an understatement.

It's terrorism.

Actually I've spent time in Quebec my so called Quebecois, I would assume you are from the English parts of Quebec, so your 'Pure Laine' or should I say "Pure Wool" is better perhaps!! What I've found in my enlightenment is that the English of Quebec are far far more racist against the French. French at least tolerated us, but the English had nothing but lies and made up scary things about the French, which I found completely unfounded. I was surprised actually that I was experiencing exactly he opposite of what my friends had warned me about !! And if by any chance you are French, so need to get out and experience your province.

What did you do? Stay in a B & B on Ile D'Orleans for a week? You sure didn't live in Montreal for thirty years, as I have. The racism there is palpable and it goes in all directions. Your comments about the "nasty Anglais" tells me that you did pick up on some of it and took it to heart. You might have heard "nasty Jews" too, if you hadn't been in such polite company. I don't know about your ethnic origins but out in the boondocks of the Saguenay Valley or Gaspe, they would consider you to be so much pond scum because you aren't "one of them"
