Well I'm sorry we all can't be like you.
Well most kids have more concerns over a nations history when they're playing with their ninja turtle action figures.
They don't have to know the nations history, they just have to know and
appreciate that they have a good life in this country, simple to start with,
and build from there.
Of course, before you remind me, not everyone has a good life, but for those
who don't, at least there are avenues to work through to remedy that problem,
whereas some countries have nothing, but starvation at the end of the road.
Like being taught religion, it's simply boring... if you can make it entertaining and exciting, you might have a profitable job. If it's boring, the kids arn't going to pay much attention.
Yes, religion can be very boring for children, it would be more constructive to
teach factual things about the world around us.
There are some good things here, and there are things I appreciate... but that doesn't mean it's perfect and I have no right to strive for this place to be better then it currently is.
I'm not suggesting anything is perfect, and we all should strive for a better
place, that is how canada arrived at this point, because people strived for
a better place, and will continue to do so, but without freedom, that is
very difficult.
Everything can always be better in one fashion or another.
Don't forget, I support having the anthem played every morning.... mainly because I had to do it, everybody else should too.
No kidding, what kind of a chore is that, to stand up for one minute and sing
or not sing the national anthem, give me a break.
But when it comes to teaching them about being proud to be Canadian, do you seriously think just standing up for a couple of minutes a day while the song plays is going to do that? I agree, more may need to be done..... but at the same time, I feel that you can't always push views on how great this place is on them and allow them to make their own decisions along the way.
That isn't a very intelliglent statement, just standing there while the song is
playing? That song gives us a minute to say 'thank you' for what we have and
to those who worked in the past to deliver this good life to us.
Of course the song isn't going to do anything to make our lives better, but it
is a identification for us to our country, then, lets get on with the day, and
do something to make this a better place, even if it is a tiny tiny thing, doesn't
matter.
If they feel something is wrong or there's something they don't like, listen to them and answer their questions if they have any...... but to connect to what I said before, they gotta suck up the anthem each day
Awe, poor baby, you sound like some of those spoiled rotton children, who
want want want from their country, and then have to work so hard to sing
that sicko anthem, how dare anyone ask them to do that, they are above
doing that, that's for sucks.
Maybe you just have a rotton voice.
