As to JFK, how does having an affair make him a hypocrite?

Anybody that publicly states that they will "love, honour and obey" their marriage partner and then doesn't is a hypocrite. I wasn't at JFK's wedding but I got $20 bucks that says he said something very close to that. So did Clinton BTW. Perhaps you should look up the definition of hypocrite (although I know you aren't big on definitions and like to make up your own)

"I commend any man who can run a prostitution ring from an apartment, that's quite the logistical feat."

All it takes is one bed for the perpetrator and the perpertatee to share.

With Barney Franks in the closet, gawking.

No great deal of logistics.

SirJosephPorter, once again, as you always do, ignored a direct challenge.

SHOW ME, by links, quotes, news articles and whatever other means that Mike Duvall, Larry Craig or Mark Sanford "PREACHED" about family values. THEIR OWN WORDS PLEASE!!

You are quick to condemn and assign guilt by association. Short on facts.

"Anyway, there is no evidence that he killed anybody, that is just the propaganda of the far right. If he had killed anybody, he would have been tried and convicted for it."

Not unless he had the typically corrupt Democratic "justice" system of the most virulently Dremocratic State in his back pocket.

Sort of similar to what you and your fellow sore losers claim about how GW Bush won in 2000.

Do you not think that someone who claims to be a Roman Catholic should be expected to follow at least the Ten Commandments?

Ten Commandments are open to interpretation, Tonington. E.g. does ‘thou shalt not kill’ oppose abortion? Some will say yes, others will say not. Does ‘love thy neighbour’ also mean love thy homosexual neighbour? Some will say yes, some will say no.

I am sure most Catholics would claim that they try to keep the Commandments as best they can.

No, this is not resurrection of the old thread. In fact, I have posted this thread several times now. It is always a great day when another Bible thumper is exposed as a hypocrite.

This time it is California assemblyman Mike Duvall. Highly conservative, strong opponent of gay marriage, darling of the religious right. He was caught on tape bragging about his sexual escapades with two women, other than his wife. The dialog is quite racy; you may read the transcript here.

Mike Duvall Transcript

I am not going to give any details here, I am not sure what the standards of decency are on this forum, and the transcript may not pass the test. You may read it in full at the link I gave here. But I must warn you, it reads like a Penthouse Forum letter.

OK, here is a snippet, but just one, mind you (with apologies to the moderators).

"I like spanking her," he is heard on the videotape.

"She goes, 'I know you like spanking me.' I said, 'Yeah, that's 'cause you're such a bad girl."'

Anyway, the upshot of it was that Duvall was removed from two leadership posts by the Republicans and eventually he resigned in disgrace.

Duvall received a 100 percent rating from Capitol Resource Institute, a conservative advocacy group, for his votes on legislation considered pro-family during the 2007-08 legislative session. He was also a very vocal, very strident opponent of gay marriage.

Anyway, another religious right zealot caught in his own hypocrisy. There is God, after all.

Aren't we confusing the messanger with the message here. The fact that Duvall is a reprobate, adulterer and hypocrite has absolutely no bearing on homosexual legitimization and 'marriage'. That remains as illegitimate and deadening to the soul as it always has been.

Seems to be the tactics of the homosexual lobby now, to find morally compromised supporters of traditional marriage to 'prove' that they are just as corrupt and hypocritical as homosexuals.

Thou shalt not commit adultery is pretty clear to everyone.

People should be expected to be good people and not hurt those around them, no matter what they preach or don't preach. To break out the 'we expect more of Catholics' card is hollow, and makes atheists sound like they get to be a bunch of amoral creeps. They don't. People are people. They all ought to be held to one standard, regardless of what their aim was and how 'ironic' people find their failures.

Sorry YJ, I cannot do your work for you. If you want direct quotes from these people, find them yourself. I will give you what Wikipedia says about Larry Craig.

In 1989 Craig was reported to have led an extended effort that pushed for more severe punishment of Representative Barney Frank for his involvement in a gay prostitution scandal.[18][19]

In 1999 Craig became sharply critical of U.S. President Bill Clinton for the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

n October 2005, Craig suggested that flooded sections of New Orleans should be abandoned after Hurricane Katrina had hit and was quoted on a Baton Rouge television station as saying that "Fraud is in the culture of Iraqis. I believe that is true in the state of Louisiana as well."[

Here he was talking about New Orleans and the Mardi gras.

Craig supported the Federal Marriage Amendment, which barred extension of rights to same-sex couples

This will have to do. If this doesn’t suffice and you keep thinking that Larry ‘Wide Stance’ Craig, Mark Foley, Mike Duvall are paragons of virtue which have been brought down by the liberal press, why that is your affair.

SirJosephPorter, you referenced Clinton, Franks, Lewinsky etc.

Not a single word by Mike Duvall, Larry Craig or Mark Sanford about family values.

If that is the best you can do, well....

We are not talking of homosexuality here, Coldstream, that is a separate subject. Here we are talking of conservative hypocrisy.

JFK wasn't screwing Marilyn Monroe as the president, he was screwing her as JFK while he was married to Jacqueline.

And what does that make him a hypocrite, Anna?

Well, yes it does make him a hypocrite.

He was a self-proclaimed Catholic.

1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

I know it's hard for you to follow, but try to keep up. We'll get the short bus for you if we need to.
