Patrick Brown breached ethics laws, investigation concludes

Former Ontario PC leader Patrick Brown broke the legislature's ethics laws, the province's integrity commissioner reported Thursday.

Brown failed to disclose rental income from his personal residence and failed to disclose a loan from a would-be PC candidate, according to the investigation conducted by Integrity Commissioner J. David Wake.

Wake is recommending that the Legislature reprimand Brown.

The inquiry was in response to a complaint filed by PC MPP Randy Hillier after Brown was forced to resign as party leader in the wake of allegations of sexual misconduct.

Findings

Wake's report found that Brown received a loan of $375,000 from Jas Johal, who was acclaimed as a PC candidate for Brampton North in November 2016. Brown used the loan to help pay for a $2.3 million waterfront property in his home riding of Simcoe North.

"I can say categorically that if I had been made aware of this loan that I would have included it in Mr. Brown's public disclosure statements for each of 2016 and 2017," Wake wrote.

While Wake did not find any evidence to suggest the loan influenced Johal's acclamation as a PC candidate, he said the existence of such a loan should have been made public.

"When the leader of a political party is substantially indebted to a candidate for election as an MPP for that party, the interests of transparency require that the indebtedness be made known so that people have an appropriate context to assess the relationship between the leader and the candidate," Wake continued.

MORE FAKE NEWS!

It's about the common man being raped here by establishment grifters.

I was just at Brown's office. I confirmed tacitly that the international money laundering issue I mentioned previously is why Brown was totally trashed...a totally CRIMINAL matter regarding chinese dope and triad money being laundered here in the "money laundering capital of the free world". ( BC is going through the same)

The chinese have bought up huge amounts of housing and businesses in this riding and they are using the casinos to also launder money and to get it out of china.

The forces being greased re all of this graft, and their USEFUL IDIOTS, are the ones who did Brown in.

This is a totally CRIMINAL matter, and there is MR Finance himself gaslighting us, and defending this LIEBARREL CONDONED financial RAPE of the common man who has to pay for all of this.

Morning Update: Money laundering and B.C. real estate; Patrick Brown

These are nine of the 45 properties where The Globe and Mail investigated lending processes that drug dealers can use to invest and launder their money, and reap tidy profits in return – all without actually owning any of the properties involved.

Patrick Brown files $8M defamation lawsuit against CTV News

TORONTO - Former Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown has filed a defamation lawsuit against CTV News over its reporting of what he alleges are false accusations of sexual misconduct.
Brown, who stepped down in January hours after the CTV report, alleges the network and several journalists involved in the story acted maliciously and irresponsibly in publishing the accusations brought forward by two women.
In his statement of claim, the Barrie, Ont., politician says CTV and its reporters failed to properly scrutinize and verify the allegations, which date back to his time as a federal MP. He further alleges the network gave him only hours to respond before broadcasting the story on Jan. 24.
Brown has vehemently denied the allegations, which have not been independently verified by the Canadian Press, saying there are discrepancies in the women's stories. He is seeking $8 million in damages and an order that CTV remove all material suggesting he provided underage girls with alcohol.
CTV says it stands by its reporting and will vigorously defend it in court. Brown's allegations have not been proven in court and a statement of defence has not yet been filed.

You don't know what you're talking about.

And you do? The thread is about the ethics breach by Patrick Brown and you are trying to make it sexual which topic do you want to discuss or point out? If it's about the ethics breach then I agree he breached it. If it's about the under age accusations from Jan. that already been proved false with the false age claim and the other chick was allowed to leave when she didn't want to suck his Dick nomo and walked out. He has a legit lawsuit against CTV on defamation when there was no law broken
