If you lived in Alberta then you know how popular he is there, he is by far the most popular politician in the country.....do you know why? I could tell you but I'm more interested in why you think he is.
He is the only poltitician that consistantly gets more than 60 % of all the popular vote. Almost all of the other politicians in this country get in with less than 50 %
Since Ralph got on the wagon a few years ago I don't he's been as good but still better than all the rest, hell even a lot of BC'rs wanted him as premier.
Anybody remember what made Klien cut back on drinking ?

:? Yeah, It happened in a homless shelter/ soupkitchen, and of course he was a little tipsy...ok he was more or less loaded, and he pretty much told the homless there to get a job.

There was more to it like tossing money, but that was a few years ago and the memory is now a little thin.

that you don't brag about 1957 to 1965 when Alberta was receiving money from Ottawa under the "equalization payment" scheme. Nor do you talk about the rest of Canada going on a "buy Alberta beef" binge during the American bar on Canadian beef. You also don't talk about the other provinces shipping hay to Alberta during the drought a few years ago. Maybe if you stopped ranting long enough to pull your head out of your fundimental orifice you might know a few of these things. Mean while...Piss off!

Did the Feds Pee in your cornflakes or something? You know provinces may be able to act independantly, but when they co-operate en masse, who do you think is assisting on the orchestration of it eh?

In other words everyone is working together on it, the feds could be giving you $400 rebates, and you'd still find something to whine about.

First off all the help Albertans recieved during the bse ( mad cow ) crises with "buy Alberta beef" and with the drought where grain was shipped to Alberta came from ordinary Canadains, not any provincial or federal government and I thought it was great and so did a lot of Albertans. The federal government did finally supply some grain cars but by then farmers from Ontario and the priaries were already transporting it themselves.
Those $400 dollar cheques your talking about came from the Alberta gov't ....not the feds and I did'nt get any cause I live in B.C. now.
So who's doing the whining....and misleading

The help that Albetans received during mad cow was exactly the same as every other province, Gary. The difference is that you have a couple of US-owned packers there who took advantage of the situation and your Albertan politicians, provincial and federal, went out of their way to protect. You screwed your own people for corporate profits, Gary.

The hay and grain that was shipped during the drought was partially covered by the feds, partially by other provinces, and mostly by farmers, Gary. That would be the same farmers that you and yours turned around and screwed during the BSE crisis. Help will be slower coming next time.

Those $400 cheques that you put so much store in could be 4 or five times higher if you didn't insist on voting for Klein, Gary. He did worse than Libya. Chavez did better than anybody else. It's the people that came to Alberta's help when it was needed that Albertan's appreciate.
But it is also attitude's like yours that Albertan's are getting sick and tired of. They pay far more per capita to keep this country afloat than do any other Canadains. Other than some down to earth canadians like themselves that don't mind helping there wondering what they have in common with the rest of Canada.
If enough Canadians like you keep it up you won't have to worry about Alberta much longer.
And if you think Libya is so good and Omar Kadafi is so much better than Klien....why don't you move there ?

....just because Ottawa has provided Alberta with equalization money half a century do not mean that we have to bow down at their feet. How much money has Alberta provided to all of Canada since then? Dosen't Ottawa make more money from our oil then we do? Alberta pays almost double per capita in equilization payemnt than Ontario does!

If you've read many of the past posts there's usually something critical said about every province....not to mention positive. Criticism is just that. Something to reflect upon and wonder what could help the situation, rather than just automatically crying Pity mee Poor me as soon as someone mentions a name. Yes, there are problems all across this country that need to be delt with.
Health care, state of our military, corruption in Ottawa and many more.
Albertan's and other western Canadians have been at the forefront of trying to fix these problems for many years through the reform party, the alliance and now the Conservative party. Balanced budgets, lower taxes, health care reform, stronger military, tougher punishment for criminals, better democracy and on and on. You don't see any of these ideas coming from the Liberals or N.D.P. do you ?
And don't start spewing some crap about this being Bush's agenda, he has nothing to do with it. This is about Canada.

All of these options sound great, but it seems here that 3 of these 5 options here are funded by our tax dollars, and one would be the result of spending taxes on EVERYTHING properly, and one of these things do not belong here if that's the case.
