Texas had madcow disease around the same time the UK had it.
It was the time that Oprah was being sued for her comments of I don;'t think I want to eat hamburgers anymore.
It was I think mid 90s that Texas had a bad outbreak.

Umm...I thought Opra was sued for implying Texas had Mad Cow desease when there was none.
Maybe I'm wrong. I know what can grow in -any- food. And really even eating a mad cow infected burger isn't a bullet to the head. I mean, you can get worse things from chicken or lettuce.
When it comes to keeping food germ free you either need to turn a blind eye or freak out every day.
I'll keep my eye blind on that matter. I like taco bell too much to guess at what's in the meat. Heh.

CNN is making up lies and bullshitting the news. They exaggerate it and for that reason they make money. Canadian meat is much safer than any inspection the US does.

I don't really think its bullshit gnuman, hell Saskatchewan is thinking about banning Beef imports from Alberta because of this.

On a sidenote, If the US had mad cow disease somewhere, I'd hope Canada would ban the imports.. always look at it from the flipside..

Yah how many more cows do they have to slaughter to prove that there was 1 cow only affected, and who says it was actually madcow disease? I don't think the UK was 100% certain then again I could be wrong.
Did you even know Canada is 4th when it comes to processing horsemeat for consumption? Thats a fact I bet few people know about I was surprised when I heard about it.

As for the slaughter to solve the problem - it was in the best interest of all concerned to show the americans without any doubt that our meat supply is safe.
Now why is they care not if we inject them full of steriods and anti-biotics? Everyone who eats meat should be concerned.

Am I being pedantic when I think that spelling anymore as "nemore" is a bad thing??
I have alot of friends who use internet chat (shat) speak and feel all 1337 for it...but unless it's like in a video game or time is of the most...can't we take a moment to atleast TRY to spell correctly?
I mean, I -know- I mispell all the time, but it's usually because I flake out (and some lysdexia). But can we please not leet speak?
