RE: Americans against Can

It doesn't categorize people unless they wish to be categorized though.

People are always going to bring their old political battles and baggage with them. It takes a few generations to disappear. That happens in any country that accepts immigrants. Official multi-culturalism does not affect it.

Multi-culturalism, especially in a country as diverse we are in Canada, does offer a chance to celebrate and accept our differences...to learn about each other and find common ground...instead of pushing those differences underground where old issues fester.

And this fellow posters was the reason why I joined Canadian
Content, I was so appalled by responses from certain members, I just had to join. Notice the loud mouths are no longer around.

Carry on.

I have to say that this was the reason I joined as well.

It's like anywhere else, some people like each other, some don't. For the most part, we all get along fine, EH?

I did hear though a recent term for a Canadian I had never heard before from a comedian named Carlos Mencia, a Mexican American from East Los Angeles (California).

In a routine about the Americans wanting to put up a wall along the Mexican/US Border to keep "Wetbacks" out, ( a derogotory term for Mexican migrant workers crossing the border illegally), Mencia recommended that a wall be put up along the US/Canadian border because the 911 Terrorists came in from here. He said the US should be more worried about the "FROST BACKS" than the Wetbacks.

It was meant as a joke and I took it as a joke as the majority of Canadians would. I'm still laughing about it myself.
