Yet your attitude to your fellow Canadians does more to divide the country then anything I could ever say or do .
I have to concur. Nothing piggy says or does will ever matter in the least to anyone.

I'm not a separatist. I don't spit on Service people. I don't believe that my pay cheque puts me on any sort of high ground. I believe in law and order.

It's divisive if you are a piece of shyte who already hates his country, anyway.

I do not buy into your nihilism.
Yet you are happy to look down that pointed nose of yours at those rubes from Alberta and Saskatchewan and consider them greedy for wanting equal access to markets both in Canada and abroad .All the while you are glad to spend their tax dollars on unfettered illegal immigration.

Stanfield's sent their factory to Bangladesh.
Bullshit. Stanfields never had a manufacturing plant in Halifax. All of Stanfields products are manufactured in Canada.

Don't know about that ....but then I am probably biased to the west coast.;-)
Maybe, there are exeptions. I have sailed all around Newfoundland and Labrador Newfoundlanders are kind, generous folk that will adopt you for the briefest of time. I have no problem at all believing the premise of "Come From Away". Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEi ... more of the same, maybe a little less do but still kind and generous to a fault. Rural Quebec even can be like that, too. A bit of French always helps. Quebec City has always been nice to me. You will get attitude in Montreal. They have a different history, there but it is neither friendly nor unfriendly. Southern Ontario is polite and civil. It is a stretch to considering warm and friendly. Northen Ontario is a bit more like Atlantic Canada. Move West and friendliness falls away into a general suspicion of strangers, dislike of other goes up and the surity of moral superiority increases. Where the Newfoundlander might greet a total stranger like me with heart felt friendliness, a rural Westerner is more likely to view me as something suspicious. If my skin were any darker that it's current Celtic lobster shade, I fear that I might be staring down the barrel of somethingorother if my car broke down.

It just goes to show that money and prosperity do not buy happiness, friendliness, community spirit or generosity.

Totally AGREE. And to state the obvious: it does not buy standards, ethics, integrity, and other values so imperative for a society to exist in constructive harmony.

As you can tell, I'm very fond of Newfoundland and Newfoundlanders. I had the privilege of visiting real outposts when there fishery was still happening in the early-mid 1970s while in the Navy and it was a very poor but very special place.

God bless 'em all, I sez.

If I ever experience those kinds of people in the fjords of BC, I will re-cant fully and wear sack cloth for a week.

I know that I won't because even the fishermen there have times more money than a family in Red Bay would ever have seen in a lifetime, back then. It was 500 years of subsistance while clinging to a garden rock near the edge of the Arctic Ocean and the simply HAD to be good to each other in order to survive.
