Alberta doing something sneaky?

That never happens.

Alberta's carbon capture rollout plan criticized by industry over transparency, costs

Industry leaders in Alberta have criticized the government's rollout of a plan to capture carbon dioxide emissions underground as ineffective and lacking transparency, saying it has delayed billions of dollars of investment and increased costs.

Several oilpatch and other industrial players want to reduce their emissions by investing in such facilities in the province, which is considered to have ideal geology for storing carbon, experts say, as gases can be pumped a few kilometres underground into a layer of rock filled with interconnected pores, similar to the holes in a sponge.

The Alberta government controls the underground space and has begun choosing projects that can proceed.

Well that was a fact filled article that got straight to the point highlighting numerous concerns and enhances the ambitions of the PM in the fight against climate change.

How about those oil prices? They’re high, but taxes still remain one of the biggest single contributors to Canadian fuel prices when weighed against other drivers such as crude oil prices, refining costs and the markup charged by fuelling stations.

All told, a Canadian driver can expect to pay between 30 and 50 cents in taxes for every litre of gasoline.

It’s part of why – even as record-breaking fuel prices similarly sweep the United States – Americans are still filling up their tanks for far less than what Canadians pay.

On Thursday, the absolute lowest price for a litre of 87 octane in Surrey, B.C. was $2.26, according to GasBuddy.com. Only a few metres away in Washington State, gas could be had for the equivalent of US$4.56 per gallon, or C$1.54 per litre.

High gas prices must be why we are seeing a global cold spell.

Snow in Brazil the other day because they don't use gasoline. True fact.

Did you get yours yet? Do you feel all smug about now? That is as long as you ignore the child labour involved in the EV making process. Unless of course you approve of it.

If you don't like the job, just quit.

Oh fer sure. There's an entire child labour industry out there. Isn't it wonderful how the communo-fascists are redistributing all that wealth.
Hey, back in the days all y'all conservatives love so much, kids worked from the time they could stand. By 14 they'd be full time.
