Wow that's gorgeous B00mer. Living in ugly Las Vegas for so long I am not use to seeing such colour.

Actually, I don't know why you would dog Las Vegas, you're close to the Grand Canyon, Lake Mead, you have the High Desert and the Entertainment in Vegas. There is so much to do around Vegas.. Bolder/Hoover Dam.. I mean sh!t.. what isn't there to do?

Lake Mead Reserve, boating sailing... party, girls and booz.. (fatherhood 9 months later)

High Desert Pen.. (I deliver there) O.J. Simpson's temporary home

Well I have lived here most of my life, Lake Mead is nice but it takes a bit to get to the fishing is great. Grand Canyon is nice also, but living in Vegas is just I dunno the summers are brutal with the 110-117 degree heat. Also the people here are very shady, very rude, I mean it's a great place to party but outside of that you won't get much out of it. The desert landscape doesn't look much different than a place that was hit by a nuke. Also the economy is horrible here, I mean absolutely horrible. Literally no work, hasn't been any solid mason work for years.

Easier to get across, better border? Friendlier Border officers? Or more comfortable beds in the detention cell?

Tourist cities are always like that.. plenty of unemployment, people in a rush..

I like Rhyolite, Nevada and the area up there.. and a few of the Ranches.. lol

Work? Go to North Dakota.

Haha what kind of doughnuts, don't want to bring her the wrong ones and call down her wrath upon me? They really only have one person manning the gate? I would think they would have had a lot more at a border then that or is it just not a very busy place?

Haha on the sign, that's great.

When I was building lease roads down there I was lucky to see 3 cars a day going to that crossing, one was the border gal.

O.K. Now I have a question for YOU. Building lease roads??

When I was working for TB14, all I remember of lease roads is driving across a farmers field.. after enough trucks crossed the path to the lease.. it was a road.. rocks, holes and all.

Ya,for MGV and Trident,I think I have some pics of that rig you posted.Minimal disturbance leases dont get a full build on the road, sometimes they just mow the grass.

This was not a good day,104 hours on the dozer. Not a good day at all.
At least it wasn't your decision to be out there. Odd that a low drive couldn't back out. One thing I don't like about hi-drives is the escape rout from sinking is to add more throttle and keep going forward. That hasn't always worked out that well for me on a lease, in the wild it was never an issue, stop and start hauling out trees to build up the road behind so you could. In my day change the oil in the final drive (if needed) and that could be about it. Sunk is when just your dozer tip is sticking out. Swamo cats usually have a sling attached from the tow-bar to the top of the canopy so recocery is easier once a pad is built.
