Alberta Health Care – Some not so apparent facts

We are talking about a Government who has constantly lied to the electorate for the last 25 years they have been in. There have been flashing of news regarding all of this stuff and not knowing I had a battle to fight, I didn't take the links. Having said that; it is all out there on line if you can find it.

Tough crowd, eh? Links are demanded when the opposition wants to create steam without heat. They probably wouldn't be read anyhow. It's a clever little ploy designed to obliterate any and all facts that might poke pinholes in favoured bags of air

Just because you can't be bothered to read links, you shouldn't assume others aren't interested. As an Albertan, I would be very concerned if party plant's allegations were true. It really shouldn't be difficult to provide some evidence to back up the claims. Hell, I do it all the time.

Naturally you'd assume I was speaking of you considering you are one of the more disagreeable for the sake of being disagreeable folks here. Is it too difficult for you to check on a call? I do....

Naturally you'd assume I was assuming you were speaking of me. The simple fact is that makes no difference who you were speaking about. Sorry to disappoint.

Yeah.... Go get some.

I saw what Harris did to gut Ontario healthcare so it doesn't surprise me to read Klein pulled a few shenanigans too. It's in the very nature of the breed in their rush to privatize.

Now, what have you added ... aside from your presence

I'd ask why the big deal then ... but then that's just what drama's all about, isn't it?

The "big deal" is that cyberdummy has spouted off his mouth about how the sky is falling here in Alberta. All that is being asked of the brainless wonder is to back up his verbal diarrhoea. Either that, or admit all his spewing is nothing more than his unsolicited factless opinion.

Please understand the documents you are asking for go back to 2000. I have them but the links are broken now. I am looking for permission to publish the articles.

If not available here I am sure they will be available in time for an election.

Maybe the third time is the charm
I have the articles (among 3 GB of other stuff) but the links are broken now. (vintage 2000) I am waiting for permission to publish again.

Here are some stats when comparing US to Canda:
US Can
Life Expectancy (Male) 74.8 77.4 Life Expectancy (Female) 80.1 82.4 Infant Mortality/1000 live births 6.8 5.3 Obesity Rate (Male) 31.1 17.0 Obesity Rate (Female) 32.2 19.0 HC spending as % of GDP (2005) 16.0% 10.4%Healthcare Economist Health Care System Grudge Match: Canada vs. U.S.
Got to keep a tory happy.

Got to keep a tory happy.

Switzerland has compulsory health insurance, everyone is using a plan offered by the private sector, with low wage earners subsidized by the government. But all patients still pay part of the cost of their health care.

Life expectancy (Male) 79.4 years Life Expectancy (Female) 84.2 Infant Mortality/1000 live births 3.9 Obesity Rate (Male) 7.9 Obesity Rate (Female) 7.5 HC spending as a % of GDP 10.8%.

An extra 0.4% of GDP and they have an infant mortality rate 26% lower than ours, they live about two years longer than we do (this might explain all or at least part of the higher health care costs) and the rate of obesity is far lower, though I don't see that as a function of the type of health care system, as much as a societal difference.
