Our so called national anthem is a perfect example of that. People say "You have to be loyal to Canada", how can I be loyal to an inanimate, unconscious thing? I said we should accept the First Nations narrative as the national narrative in the context of defining which civilization modern Canada ought to belong to. I did not say all we Canadians should adapt Indigenous beliefs or culture, far from it, we must maintain multiculturalism and our own distinctive identities. Canada is not one nation but many, this too must be maintained as the official narrative.
