this kind of post is simple a reflection of the fact the during times of peace a soldier is a nobody
- and knows it

Sadly when someones life experience is learned through film and television their ignorance is made apparent by the uneducated statements they make.

When soldiers were not engaged in Combat they have helped the residents of Quebec during ice storms. Assisted in the flood of the Century as the rising red threatened Winnipeg. Help fight wild fires in British Columbia. While simultaneously looking for a missing girl. Just a few of the many things our proud military has done.

They do not measure their worth based on war or any other act of selflessness. Unfortunately you just don't get it.

Cortez, I need not point it out to everyone. Your ignorance speaks for itself. How about bringing something logical to the thread for a change.

RCS, I agree Afghanistan will benefit from our Military presense and Visa-Vie. On a side note, I wish our Air Force and Navy personel could particapate in at least one tour of duty in Afghanistan. Let us not forget some of the useless desk jockies in Ottawa, a little fire power under their asses might motivate them. Our Armys' lads and lasses are getting tired.
Sassy I've got few Air Force friends who are over there. Minus the desk jockies, they are there in full support.
Love that strut

I agree that the experiance will be valuable to Canadian armed force, having been in such close quarters with American forces our forces will be well equipt to engage the imperialist capitalist pig forces when our turn comes arround, and it will.

It's caused by moi playing with the other halfs power tools when he's not home. He is making his mother a Dragon Boat Oar at the moment, not that that has any thing to do with this discussion but the word Dragon and his Mother cracks me up.

My sincere apologys to pigs everywhere, it is unfortunate that I lapsed into animal abuse of the worst kind by associating them with capitalists, and our army of cowards who prefere killing citizens in a faraway land instead of the real enemy.

let me refrase it
during times of peace-- some in the military-FEEL like they are nobodies

and how very interesting you should cite these very usefull acts- that are part of the JOB of military people during peace ie the ice storm etc
thats public money put to good use
fighting for the biggest terrorist organisation in existence-- however is NOT
but it certainly has the WOW factor doesnt it

cut and run

Not so Cortez, the military isn't there for the civies to use as a cheap work force. RCS, the military Air, Army and Navy where the first responders to Swiss Air Crash 111, our boys and girls dredged and respectfully removed human remains for weeks. These remains where then flow to Shearwater and the lads and lasses saw things few will ever see. Was it their job? No, it was an act of compassion and good Government. After Hurricane Juan again our MIlitary was there, after White Jaun what's that Sassy our Military stood at the ready. I could list a hundred different things the Canadian Military personel have done for Canada and Canadian Communities.

The Military's role is to protect our boarders, and to assist other countries when asked. Don't like that well that's really to bad, at least they stand for something. I for one don't think Canada is in a state of Peace not after September 11th. Terrorism is real, and no one will convince me other wise.

DarkBeaver who is the real enemy?

Hey Cortez, you and the Beav really have the market cornered on childish antics.

Perhaps if the two of you put your heads together you might be able to work on some kind of rebuttal instead of the pathetic nonsensical gibberish you pass off as debate.

Then again Maybe not.

Cheers

terrorism is very real indeed-- so why fight for the largest terrorist organisation in existence

the tasks you list as serving canadian communties-- is GREAT-- no joke--- its a great JOB!
a JOB
a JOB
a JOB
like a doctor ... has a job
like a teacher has a job
like a nurse has a job
like a police officer has a job
like a fisherman has a jiob
like a mechanic has a job
like a taxi driver has a job-- very hazarddous
like a journalist has a job
like a fireman has job
like day care worker has a job

or do you somehow consider those jobs that require a uniform of some kind with a canadian flag on it--- to be somehow special--- somehow a selfless act-- somehow an almost mystical giving of the self in true patriot love-----

selfless acts are what activists do for nothing
protest injustices-- with no gain to themselves --risk imprisonment by the authorities and and REALLY fight for human rights

its activists intellectuals scientiss engineers doctors teachers unions human rights organisations labour lawyers etc that have made our westerm democrasy GREAT
they are CREATORS
they CREATE the freedom
that SUPPOSABLY soldiers take credit for---

thank a soldier--
no

thank for example --Pasteur-- for discovering vaccination and without whose discovery barely a third of us would be alive today

to any rational person this is self evident

only a militarist would refer to civies
---in a disparanging way

civies create
soldiers destroy

if your alive today--- thank a civie

The fact that your speaking English and not German thank the Military. The fact that you are free to write what you wrote, thank the Military.

To members of the Military it isn't a job but a mind set, one that you will never understand Cortez. The people that a Military Member serves with become life long friends. When you rely on others for survival a bond forms that can't be articulated. Mia Culpa.

What enemy are talking about?

What enemy are talking about?

my advice to you is go down to chapters
with 200 bucks
and buy a copy every noam chomsky book theyve got
read them
underline the important points
think about them

then YOU tell me who the enemy is.

----- but if we were speaking german---- someone like you would be arguing that -- if it wasnt for soldiers we would be speaking english

mindless set

today i thank pasteur-- thank you civie-- thaank you you great son of FRANCE for the very life i hold--- due to your MIND--- your intelligence we are alive today so that the likes of retired can soldier can go around muttering about whatever hes muttering about

Wow, your rebuttals leave me breathless. DarkBeaver I'd rather read the mind numbing works of Pierre Burton than read that nut bar Chomsky, paranoia can be treated with anti-physicotic drugs. I think it's very pretensious of you two to assume that the rest of us don't read what you consider great works of lititure. Sorry but it's political toilet paper to me.
