Former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher doesn't like Adele.

And One Direction.

Oh, and Ellie Goulding, too.

Noel Gallagher slams One Direction, Adele, Ellie Goulding and state of the music industry in scathing interview

But he's a fan of Kanye, apparently

Chris Mandle | @chris_mandle | Thursday 5 November 2015| 9 comments |

Noel Gallagher has slammed the state of the music industry and bemoaned the current crop of pop stars, calling One Direction, Ellie Goulding and Adele “c***suckers” while claiming “fame’s wasted on these c****s.”

In typical Gallagher-esque fashion, the former Oasis member went on a lengthly rant in the new issue of Esquire, covering topics in such depth that most of the Q&A is devoted to him giving long, exhaustive missives on everything from music, his wife, his brother Liam and his band’s legacy.

He shows a surprising amount of respect for Kanye West, however, who is one of the few people to come out of his musings unscathed.

“Fame's wasted on these c****s today. Bar Kanye. You watch him on the MTV Awards and you think, ‘You can f****** stay, you’re alright,” he said.

“Who gives a s*** what f****** One Direction do? C*********s, all of them in rehab by the time they’re 30.

"Who gives a s*** what Ellie Goulding is up to? Really?

"Adele, what? Blows my f****** mind. It blows my f****** mind. Nobody cares!”

Gallagher criticises “these current pop stars” for wearing in-ear monitors and smoking electronic cigarettes, as well as bringing out fragrances in time for Christmas.

But he chides the public for enjoying the newer generation of rock stars, saying being interesting is not better than being funny, and cites Skrillex as an example of an artist who is considered “interesting” (although he clearly disagrees).

“I don’t want interesting! Rock ’n’ roll’s not about that. To me, it's about f****** utter gob*****s just being f****** headcases.”

He also suggests that musicians are too tame and business-like, and says, in no uncertain terms, that an artist with a drug habit would be better for the industry.

“What I want, genuinely, is somebody with a ****ing drug habit, who’s not Pete Doherty. Do you know what I mean?”

Erm. Not really Noel.

You know, I watched this Kanye perform for the first time a few days ago . It as on SNL. All I can do, is shake my head and stand in bewilderment. Remarkable what people like. I must be from a different planet. The man sucks donkey ***** as far as talent go. Tiny Tim is brilliant in comparison. And he's dead.

I have a friend, Gerry Moss,,,a session guitarist and occasional performer at blues festivals in the Midwest. Really one of the best guitarists I've ever listened to. He gets by with giving guitar lessons and occasional gigs in local bars ,,and maybe a session or two. I hear talented people like this,,,and the late Eva Cassidy who never got any attention until after her death, and then I see these useless no talent pukes like Kanye West and you just have to shake your head and say,,,oh well. WTF anywho. Makes no sense but,,,what the hell does anymore. Millions and millions for these slugs,,,,unbelievable.

Paul McCartney is another famous musician who seems to be a fan of Kanye West.

Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney released the hit FourFiveSeconds in January, which peaked at No4 in the UK. McCartney played the acoustic guitar in the song, even though he is normally a bassist, as he was in the Beatles.

Nothing worse than bloody jobsworth moderators. They start out as normal posters like everyone else but as soon as they are given undeserved power over the "ordinary" peoples they turn into smug, humourless, officious, overbearing busybodies who think they are better than everyone else. In fact, they are just like the morons who work in local councils: you know the type, they come round to your home wearing a hi-viz jacket, a hard hat and a clipboard just to tell you that you are not using gardening shears which conform to local council safety regulations, Section 526, Sub-section 9.

It's about time all discussion forums everywhere got rid of moderators. There really is no need for them. They do nothing but stifle free speech and creativity and turn what could be good forums into forums which are about as much fun a Scottish peat bog at 3am in January.
Been on the UK Zeta board again, eh?

Adele reportedly signs $130M record deal
WENN.com
First posted: Monday, May 23, 2016 06:34 PM EDT | Updated: Monday, May 23, 2016 06:49 PM EDT
Adele is reportedly signed a $131 million record deal with Sony Music.
The Rolling in the Deep singer reportedly closed a deal to move from her current label XL Recordings to Sony Music, and the staggering $131 million contract will bring her fortune to $254 million , according to Britain’s The Sun newspaper.
“We have secured the biggest music star in a generation. This is massive,” a source told the publication. “Adele’s deal with her original label XL expired and we’d an existing relationship with her in America…
“The deal is being worked on by our Columbia label in the US, but is worth £90million and gives Sony the rights to release her future music exclusively around the world.”
The contract is reportedly the most lucrative contract given to a British artist, topping the $116 million British pop star Robbie Williams was paid to move to EMI in 2002. It will also be the largest ever deal handed to a female musician, with the previous leader being the late Whitney Houston, who was given $102 million by Arista in 2001.
Adele, who was already named Britain’s richest female musician in the 2016 Sunday Times Rich List, with an estimated $123 million fortune, earlier this year, has her manager Jonathan Dickens to thank for the new deal.
“Jonathan’s been putting it together for a couple of years. He was very aware of her worth in the market and stood firm to push for the £90 million,” the music source added.
The news comes after the 28-year-old scored five prizes at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night, for Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Selling Song (Hello), Top Billboard 200 Artist, and Top Billboard 200 Album for 25.
She didn’t attend the Las Vegas show in person as she is currently on tour, but she sent in video acceptance speeches to thank her fans.

Adele gives up pizza to protect her voice
WENN.COM
First posted: Friday, August 12, 2016 11:01 AM EDT | Updated: Friday, August 12, 2016 11:06 AM EDT
Adele is devastated she's had to give up eating pizza to protect her voice.
The 28-year-old soul superstar had been looking forward to indulging her love of the food while on tour in the U.S.
However she has been unable to take in the country's famous pizzerias after being advised that eating the snack may harm her voice.
According to editors at Britain's Daily Star newspaper the singer told fans at a Los Angeles gig on Tuesday of her disappointment at the pizza ban, saying, "I can't eat pizza anymore guys, how bad is that?"
Revealing the reasons for the pizza prohibition she added, "Because it's got cooked tomatoes on it which are bad for your throat and give you acid reflux. How bad is that, that I can't eat pizza, can you get over that?"
The Hello singer even compared her situation to a Shakespearean tragedy, as she said, "I'm in America and I can't eat pizza no more. It's worse than Romeo And Juliet! If only Shakespeare was alive, he could write about it!"
The star is on strict orders to protect her voice on tour, after having vocal chord surgery in 2011. Earlier this year she revealed she had given up alcohol.
Adele's comments are not the first time she has addressed the subject of pizza on stage; at a concert in Chicago, Illinois last month she denied a report in Britain's The Sun newspaper that she had sent staff at a hotel in Oxfordshire, England on a 25 km round trip to grab a meal from her favourite London pizzeria.
"First of all, I wouldn't make anyone do that," she said. "That's ridiculous, I would never order pizza and then eat it cold. I wouldn't do that. I might send someone out to get local pizza, but if I order pizza, I'm going to consume it."

Never liked her. Something irritating in that voice.

And it's not due to the pizza

I not seen Adele live until this past New Year's Eve when CBC broadcast her concert from New York city. I was often spellbound listening to the passion and pain in her voice as the lyrics painted pictures of love, life and loss. Her range is truly wonderful easily flowing from the soprano through alto to a sultry contralto. She is a treasure.
