President Obama sat down with Jon Stewart for an interview that will air on The Daily Show tonight. According to White House pool reports, they talked for a little less than 15 minutes, and while some questions were light-hearted, others weren't. Stewart asked Obama about the attacks on the American consulate in Benghazi, and Obama explained why the information the White House released after the attacks was so confusing for so long:
Here's the transcript of the question:
Jon Stewart: “Is part of the investigation helping the communication between these divisions? Not just what happened in Benghazi, but what happened within. Because I would say, even you would admit, it was not the optimal response, at least to the American people, as far as all of us being on the same page."
POTUS: "Here’s what I’ll say. If four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal. We’re going to fix it. All of it. And what happens, during the course of a presidency, is that the government is a big operation and any given time something screws up. And you make sure that you find out what’s broken and you fix it. Whatever else I have done throughout the course of my presidency the one thing that I’ve been absolutely clear about is that America’s security comes, and the American people need to know exactly how I make decisions when it comes to war, peace, security, and protecting Americans. And they will continue to get that over the next four years of my presidency."

Not optimal??? What the hell would be optimal when it comes to loss of life and is there perhaps, oh I don't know, another way it can be phrased?

I am watching the unravelling of the right in this election. The Romney team is throwing
anything and every thing they can like jello on a wall. I would expect in the last days the
Republicans will close the gap only to fall short on election day. Obama is not perfect and
he may not be the greatest leader in the world. but consider the alternative.
The current crop of Republicans could well and will likely lose this election, not because of
bias in the media, or Hollywood endorsements against them. The reason is they and their
supporters have made stupid statements about real rape, and a host of other nonsense.
They are ready to play politics or appear to with the bodies of dead civil servants, and they
are in league with the whack jobs, the Tea Party.
All these chickens coming home to roost, are overcrowding the last remaining hopes the
GOP has.
If by some miracle Romney wins his policies will put them in the same position the Bush
folks did and it will be worse. Like I keep saying respectful Republicans remain silent and
well they should their party and fiscal conservative policy has been hijacked by a political
crowd dressed for Halloween

Like the article says, Obama's Libya policy is a failure. And they knew right away it was a terrorist attack, yet did not say that it was a terrorist attack for weeks due to sticking to a failed policy. Blame it on a bad movie. Wrong. Fact is, Libya is out of control and the Obama admin is clueless here.
