Wish France well with the hosting. Apparently they have cleaned up the Seine.

Paris will need to put on a good show to regain enthusiasm for the event. Marginal sports has pretty much made the Olympics a non event for me personally. Say no to snowboarding. Now they want flag football.

That said Canada spends a lot of money on the Olympics. Most of it on the administrative bureaucracy.

Agreed. The Olympics would benefit from cutting down on the number of events and eliminating most team sports and sports with healthy professional and/or international leagues.

Hard to believe Canada is sending Andre De Grassi to his 4th Olympic games. That's a lot of sucking on the national teat.

Nobody faster or nobody cares. More of a colossal waste of money on an incredible superficiality that has nothing to do with National pride.

Top dog Andre Degrassie fails to make finals in both the 100 and 200. Still has the relay to go but seriously a poor choice to be on the team. Next is a job for life with a generous pension no doubt.

Can't say I have followed the games at all just catching bits here and there. Not worth dumping tax dollars into what is basically a privately held group with superficial organizational objectives. Anything that sells should be the motto.

Algeria’s Imane Khelif has stormed into the women’s welterweight boxing final at the Paris Olympics 2024 after beating Thailand’s Janjaem Suwannapheng in a unanimous points decision by the judges in the French capital.

Lin Yu-ting, representing Chinese Taipei, defeated Esra Yildiz Kahraman of Turkey by a unanimous decision, advancing to the final round of the women’s 57-kilogram competition Saturday.

Interesting…time will tell.
