interesting change in agriculture as corn is being forced north by the heat and into places where the soil is not suited to corn. Lots of odd problems starting to occur because of this thing.

Hybridization of corn is moving it north.

Pioneer 39T67

Saskatchewan
Posted Sep. 18th, 2008 by Sean Pratt

Corn doesn’t warrant a mention as one of Saskatchewan’s principal field crops in Statistics Canada’s latest production estimate but it might in a few years, says an agrologist.

“The breeding has come a long ways in the last 10 years to make it a more viable crop here,” said Korvin Olfert, irrigation agrologist with Saskatchewan Agriculture.

He estimates 30,000 acres of corn were planted in the province in 2008, up from about 20,000 acres four or five years ago.

Acreage is on the rise because crop developers like Pioneer and Monsanto are coming out with varieties requiring lower heat units, making it a more suitable crop for Saskatchewan’s short growing season.

Pioneer’s 39T67 variety was the first to crack the 2,200 heat unit barrier.

“That was a big breakthrough,” said Olfert.

"It's clearly the warmest year [on record] that doesn't have a warming influence,"
AHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah, I guess the 200GT that volcanoes throw into the atmosphere every year pales in comparison to the 35GT humans contribute.

Better get ready for a volcano tax. If we raise taxes high enough I'm sure we can prevent volcanic eruptions.

Add in 20% more 6500°K solar plasma blasting our atmosphere at completely different latitudes than 50 years ago.

Ironic you include the movie reference... This shitty movie has been cast with equally shitty actors like tater tot, Suzuki, Gore, Flossy, Hoid, etc.

Quite the cast of miscreants I'd say
Actually, Suzuki is coming around. Was watching the Nature of Things the other day and Suzuki admitted on national TV that it's questionable whether humans are the driving cause of climate change.

Interesting, but too little too late in my eyes.

Hell, I'm told that back in the 70s & 80s he was banging his drum about the new ice age that was almost upon us due to human pollution and what not (they didn't call it emissions back then I guess)

We had the coolest summer in a decade in central Alberta and it's below average now with snow for a month....sorry

Its quite a coincidence this report comes out right at the start of the conference to bilk the public of billions and says exactly what the conference wants it to say....lol

Absolutely the climate is changing and absolutely nothing we do will stop it....it's a natural thing related to our orbit and wobble so unless you're gonna move the planet forget it.

It's not an incomplete data set when you can factor in the variables you know would lead a certain outcomes.
And yet they don't. Volcanoes, continental drift and mountain erosion are bigger factors than most people realize. Because stuff like continental drift and erosion takes long periods of time, we tend to ignore those as contributors and really have no way to measure their contribution to climate change anyway. Volcano emissions can be monitored and have been and as I said previously, turns out they contribute almost 6X the CO2 that humans do.

And yet it still doesn't conclusively prove that humans are behind it.

I see our local North Shore mountains are opening for the ski season this weekend , the third earliest in the last thirty years . Yesterday waking up in Calgary I was greeted with unusual cold weather - 26 or some god awful number . Yikes you guys should be praying for global warming . How do you stand that hell ?

Once the temperatures are adjusted you will find that you were IN FACT greeted with a warm and balmy day.

You must have been hit with some kind of wind chill factor... We aren't into the -20s quite yet.

It's easy. Stay in the sun.
