Watched part of Sweden's win over Denmark but the game was too one sided and I watched the Sun Bowl as Arizona State edged Duke. I much prefer close games in most sports - except when one of the NY teams are playing, of course. :)

10:38 in the 3rd and Domi makes it 3 - 0 for Canada but not without a helluva of pass from Reinhart.

The Germans are giving our kids more of a game than did the Slovaks, gopher - makes it more exciting to watch for sure. Really happy to see Connor break through - he's playing very well tonight.

Bowey from Petan at 4:15 on a PP goal. Canada 4 - Germany 0

Big creds to Reich - the German goalie - it would have been a much higher score were it not for him.

only watched the third period but it was clear that Canada totally dominated the game vs Germany - not a single weakness in their game plan or personnel

A standing ovation from the folks at the Bell Centre for the Canadians win and second shut-out of the tourney. I saw some errors here and there but their tenacity and drive to make up for their mistakes makes them a force to be reckoned with - all the talent doesn't hurt either.

Connor McDavid - star of the game for Canada - his Dad had tears in his eyes. All the fans on their feet signing our anthem - and my heart swells with pride.

I saw a few glitches early on, gopher but like I said, these guys really have each others back and when one goofs someone is almost always there to pick up for him or as I also saw, the goofee makes good himself.

USA> Germany 6-0

53 SOGs

Auston Matthews led the Yanks in this rout. AM is from Scottsdale, AZ and that's good news as we are now developing talent from all over the USA. Up to now, far too many players were almost exclusively from Gopherland, Massachusetts, and Michigan. The wider the source of our talent, the better.

There appears to be some discrepancy about Sonny Milano - will he play college puck or go pro? According to tonight's broadcast he's going to college after the tourny. According to wiki, he has already signed a pro contract with Columbus Blue Jackets. For his sake, he should forgo college as his game will evolve far better in NHL development.

It was so nice of our guys to take some of the stuffing out of Germany for your Team, gopher. ;-) Good game by the US. Congrats.

damn good game between russia and sweden right now..

Great game and even better result. Rock on Sweden!

And now for the most important game of the day  Canada vs Finland

GO, CANADA GO! ROCK THE ICE TEAM CANADA :canada:

Just over a minute into the 1rst, Reinhart scores a PP goal.

No lack of action in this game so far.........what a pace these guys are setting........both teams. Hear-pounding hockey.

Another good PK for Canada. No joy for the Fins on that PP.

End of 1rst - Canada 1 - Finland 0

Really great hockey in that period.

Too wide open for my liking. It's fun to watch but it makes me uncomfortable

I know what you mean, Cannuck..........it makes my heart pound hard wondering which bad pass is going to cost us. That 8 minute stretch of pure hockey was really something though.

11:07 Canada back on PP.

That was not one of our better efforts.......Fins almost had a short-hander there.

6:26 Reinhart with his second from Domi and DuClarir................2 - zip for Canada

1:34 Fins get on the board after some sloppy play by our guys and a miss by Zach.

End of 2nd P: Canada 2 - Finland 1

The 3rd P should really be something as neither of these teams are giving an inch.

Oh, oh...........Fins on PP

Okay...........we got through that one ............back to full strength with just over 13 minutes left in 3rd.

8:45 DuClair puts up by 2.

Assist by Bowie and Domi.

Canada back on PP after high-stick penalty to Fins.

Curtis Lazar puts it home as the PP comes to a close and Canada is up by 3 at 5:35

Rock on Canada...............4 to 1 over Finland and still undefeated.

Finland's only goal was a complete fluke, coming off a stupid turnover USA is next to feel the wrath.

2 - 1 Canada end of 2nd P. We'll start the 3rd with a full 2 minute PP.........but we gotta stay out of the box.

GO CANADA GO! :canada:

Great game so far...........living up to all the hype.

My nerves are shot to s*#t.................lovin' every minute. That late goal by Larkin that beat Comrie was a beaut........thank heavens for the steadiness of Reinhart and his pass to Domi. Have to go a long way to beat the excitement of this game.
