I find it uncomfortably strange that those who have posted responses here have commented primarily on the 2012 Hollywood Foofah and not 1 has raised any objection at all to to the evidence showing environmental, climate and ecosystem collapse! Can I assume from that silence that it is only me, that I am imagining those threats? Or do I take it that these developments are ok with everyone?

Actually I think the real reason for the silence is that we sense the horror is just too terrible to look upon and we suspect that if we dare acknowledge the face of evil...it is a mirror.

We can be better people, we can enact laws of common interest, Have ethics and courage, sacrifice indulgence and self interest and we can find hope for the future.

See post #14............Actually your clue is in your opening statement...............starts with "B" and ends with "S".

Just a note dude. They weren't live among ruins when they made that calendar.

True

They had cities, with a water supply and plenty of food. The ruins came after your ancestors killed them wholesale and gave them your filthy diseases.
I'm not Spanish and the Spaniards had no interest in sharing their conquests with anyone but themselves. Regardless, such accusations are false and a wikipedia article will explain

Classic Maya collapse - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Your great civilization had collapsed more than 600 years ago since the first European set eyes on Central America. These "great ruins", were not ruins because of Spaniards but because no one had bothered to maintain them.

Just like there were great archaelogical ruins in South America, and far more impressive than Machu Piccu, like the Kuelap Fortress.

Don't forget that North and South America were conquered and raped. What you see now is the result of that, not what the people living here at the time would have done I'm sure.
Cortez' Mesoamerican wifes were not raped but were consenual relationships.

I believe he means the continent was raped of people and resources.

"Cortez' Mesoamerican wifes were not raped but were consenual relationships."

Could it have been because he slaughtered all the males and his "wives" capitulated for their own survival?
