if we had won our first two games, the fans would have
gone completely the other way, and would be talking about
the stanley cup coming to their city. Never fails.
I agree that losing a game is healthy, and even that game
they lost was up for grabs, not as though they were blown
away, any game in overtime is exciting.
I also like the changes vineault is making for tonight.
Pittsburgh is hot tonight. Way to go Sid! Two goals tonight. They are up 5 to 3 right now as the Senators just scored a goal on a power play - five minutes left in the second.
I don't think the Caps are strong enough in net or on the blueline. People get snowed into this whole "they won the Presidents Trophy thing" and some of the sports media in Pittsburgh is on about how the Pens never beat the Caps all season long, but a lot of those "losses" were in shootouts... something that doesn't exist in the post season. The Caps have the most dangerously skilled offensive lineup in the NHL but their back end is average at best. And right now, Ovechkin doesn't look like he's on his game against Montreal at all.
With Philly handling the Devils, I think the best team in the East is the Pens. They're not invincible but they're the best. The West on the other hand is still so wide open... and I think thats reflected in the little MVP list: some of the Eastern teams are in control of their series, with certain dominating players but you don't see that in the West right now.
And now, it's time for a story from Alex Ovechkin.

I'm not sure that I would categorize this as a "news breaking" event......:lol::lol::lol::lol:
Those flyers have their game back together at just the right
time and I would watch out for them, they are awsome right
now, one more win and the devils are history.
Crosby is also awsome and can lead that team into the
promise land.
I agree about Washington, in the playoffs I never trust a team that isn't very
solid defensively, even with that powerful offense the team is not balanced.
'note', I just realized that gagne and carter will not be playing in next
game for philly, and that makes a huge difference in their offensive power.

Yep, I was hoping for a better outcome for Montreal. It's beginning to look like we could be down to one Canadian team left in the second round.
Not really, it just means there is more parity in the West, especially in this age of 2 and 3 point games. If ALL games were 3 points (i.e. win in regulation = 3, win in OT or SO = 2) then it might mean there was more strength if one conference had dramatically more points per team... but thats still a big stretch because of the out of conference games and the fact that shootouts are decided by an individual dynamic rather than a team one, which disappears in the post season...
