    Blowed Up Good... Real Good.

Well perhaps passing a law requiring land owners who leave their property abandoned to have it checked regularly to make sure no one is living in it and beefing up eviction laws so they can do something if there is. If the landowner here got a big ass fine for not making sure his property was...

Canadian parents have asked for medically assisted death for babies, doctors say

https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/canada-maid-medical-assistance-in-dying-children Can open, worms everywhere..... I suppose this was inevitable but it still took me a little off guard. I do support the right to end your own life if you feel that's the best choice (hell, if you don't have...

    Blowed Up Good... Real Good.

Wow. You mentioned squatter issues before along with Ron. Surely this would be evidence enough to the powers that be locally that something has to be done about that.

    Blowed Up Good... Real Good.

Glad you're ok at least and no major property damage (be sure to look around for cracks and stuff i would think). That's got to be a little scary. Any speculation on what may have caused it? Perhaps the unfortunate bad timing of letting off a leftover "3-alarm napalm chili" fart whilst...

Latest polling - Mainstreet: CPC at 38 percent

It's also worth noting one more thing. Prior to the end of ww1, there was a very serious and consistent policy of greatly limiting growith in the western provinces both in industry and in population. That's why america has about as many people living in the west as the east whereas that is not...

Latest polling - Mainstreet: CPC at 38 percent

No, athough it's a common liberal tactic to appeal to ndp voters to 'support the Liberals for this election only to stop the evil CPC (or conservative party of the day, used to be PC). " But honestly it rarely works and even then, there's just not that many who are willing to switch sides to...

Latest polling - Mainstreet: CPC at 38 percent

Not always - because we have a multi party system we can and frequently do have minority gov'ts. Sure - this one is a bad example because Jagmeet sold out his people so that he could get a pension and is basically a vassal of Trudeau but NORMALLY this prevents a prime minister from having all...

Majority of Conservative voters support defunding the CBC — but not attacks on media

If it's a tax break, it's applied universally so that's not really a thing. And small targeted tax breaks tend to favour the little guy, not the big guy. But sure, i'm certain there's no legal issues with simply saying "you get a tax exemption for every positive story about the gov't".

Majority of Conservative voters support defunding the CBC — but not attacks on media

Well as i said i'm not in favour of using tax dollars to help any of the media. But you could use tax incentives and breaks to disproportionally help smaller media and give them a leg up. Letting people keep their money is not the same as giving them someone else's money.

Latest polling - Mainstreet: CPC at 38 percent

Well like i said those areas are ALREADY saturated. So when we see growth we're not seeing it in those areas, they're already about as big as they can get. So once you hit 36 or so the growth is happening in other areas such as ontario and quebec. 38 percent would be unlikelyl to produce a...

Majority of Conservative voters support defunding the CBC — but not attacks on media

Well as i've previously noted i do support the idea of giving so called "alternative" media (which for the most part is just another name for smaller less funded media) a leg up. And i don't even mind seeing the more mainstream players have a bit of an easier time of it for that matter (toronto...

True. And the whole 'medical funding consults with the provinces' went south real fast as well. Sigh. Three more years.

Latest polling - Mainstreet: CPC at 38 percent

https://canadianpolling.ca/Canada-2021 so - the interestnig thing about the CPC numbers is that their support is already pretty saturated in most of the west, and pretty low in the east if they're around 35 percent. In otherwords, EVERYBODY in alberta votes for them at that rate but nobody in...

Majority of Conservative voters support defunding the CBC — but not attacks on media

More than a billion these days. So yeah, definitely worth it. He says he's going to. We'll see - i would think the other papers would be smart and get behind him and promote him a little - if the CBC goes that's a crap tonne of advertising dollars up for grabs that the CBC could always get...

Public Inquiries into Emergencies Act begin September 19

No, but here's the weird thing about that - they could just let their licenses lapse. No license, no calls because they can't work. But many don't, and the reason isn't that they're afraid they're going to need money or want to work again or something, it's that they beleive there might be a...

    COVID-19 'Pandemic'

not "directly' pandemic related at all Also not "Directly" pandemic related. that would be a direct result of Trudeau's travel policies and the complete disaster which was the arrivecan app and the airport disasters. Not directly pandemic related at all. Maybe you should have been speaking...

Public Inquiries into Emergencies Act begin September 19

these are things we're seeing in a lot of industries, in fact most except the bottom 'no qualifications needed' kind of jobs. In BC you need a license to sell cars. Nursing went to a 4 year program years ago and many have questioned why, it's more than is necessary. Real estate, property...

    2SLGBTQQIA+

No, one of the things that makes this place stupid is you. If you left the average age might go down but the average IQ would raise substantially. Wow, you are severely out of touch. the majority spend their time (the majority of it anyway) fundraising.
